I've heard that before a tick bites a person, they secreate some sort of substance that makes it so you don't feel the bite. Why not study the compounds of it and synthesize it artificially. Or at least study it more? We could discover a new anestheasia.

but the main component of their saliva is anticoagulant, a chemical that inhibits blood clotting, and it is found to be very effective in humans and other animals. There has been a drug developed from research on the anticoagulant in vampire bat's saliva called Draculin, which is used to treat heart patients
