As an aside, that link to Dailycaller Tiassa provided, the comments are very disturbing. Chipz was right in a sense, there's a lot of hostility towards Obama out there, but the evil isn't on his side. It bothers me because these people are probably the ones you might meet every day, and yet with internet anonymity, they really let their true self show. I know it's nothing new, but reading through them was sickening and I had to comment.

Precisely my point. Holding a political position has essentially devolved into a raw demonization of any with a dissenting opinion. It's a sickness incited by for-profit news services which is damning to an informed electorate. If you were to read just the Tiassa contributions to this "Romney File" (which is a bit more of a folder) in one sitting and took them at face value, you might think Romney is a mentally incapable of speech. However, a sensible person is well aware Romney winning the presidency would not be a tragedy in the proportions they state. His positions might be in opposition to those you hold, but it's not as if we elected a true lunatic. MSNBC begs to differ.
Obama seems to be doing quite well. Maybe crawl out from under that rock?

Well, I just figure it's like with the question of racism. A conservative associate has assured me that it's not really there, and if it is, blame Obama. After all, one of the president's signature "evils" is to have adopted the radically socialist health care plan devised by the right-wing Heritage Foundation, championed in 1993 by congressional Republicans, and enacted in Massachusetts by a Republican governor.
Thus, with the racism question, it is Obama's radical policies that move conservatives who aren't racist to use racist terms and images. And everything else is the Democrats' fault; after all, Rep. Doug Lamborn was born in 1954, and just because Br'er Rabbit was still around in the '70s and '80s, when I was growing up, doesn't mean a congressman should know why "tar baby" probably isn't a good phrase to use in reference to a black president. After all, Song of the South came out in 1946, before Lamborn was born. How dare anyone expect him ... er .. right. I digress.
With Scarborough, of course, the same thing holds. It's his own fault for wanting to have some journalistic credibility. Never mind that he's been working hard at this for years; he owes it to the Party to play the role of faithful apparatchik.
In either case, then, the venom spat at Scarborough or the gasping hatred of black people shown by some of the commenters, it's easy enough to put your mind at ease: This isn't really happening, and if it is, it's Obama's fault. And Scarborough's.
You know, the first rule of right-wing "personal accountability": Blame someone else.
It is easier to cope with difficult reality if you simply refuse to acknowledge it. A wonderful trick if you can pull it off.

On his best days as president, he'll be a puppet. He is, ultimately, a salesman. And we already know the neocons want a new world war. The Policy for a New American Century might have failed publicly, but the ideology hasn't disappeared from the Earth.
What they need is a pitch man. I am hard-pressed to think of anyone better suited for that role than Mitt Romney.
It's not a nuclear war itself that I'm worried about. A more conventional war, with all its expense of life and money, is worrisome enough.

Wonder why the Register was so amiable to Obama off the record, but switched over? Not wanting to threaten sales to their demographic? I thought it was a good read myself, I wish Obama would get more specific like that more often. But anytime he gets into specifics, people get bored. They like soundbites much better, even when they're misleading in the short form.
