The Religious “Good”

While observing many frames of beliefs a single purpose is often shared between all of them. In each they share it is ‘good’ to observe their material.

IN many teachings, the scope is often to suggest ‘believing’ is to keep you from dying (ever-lasting). Like a built in ‘fear factor.’ Then in others they suggest to ease the ‘suffering’; which is ‘good’ in their views.

What also stand out are the requirements and suggestions that a community should observe. For example; commandments/laws/norms/rituals. These can be found within the cultural acceptances.

An all around item that I personally find, is the observance of compassion. Within religious literature, they use the stories to assist in the definitions of “love” and living commitments of choice. (another is, to have faith the ‘truth’ will come; it’s pretty universal across the globe)

My questions are from a word that I saw on another thread, ‘deprogram’ or the ‘deprogramming’ of…. Mind.

When cultures observe a life style of a belief, what could be the ‘deprogram’ that can universally combine all cultures?

And if religious material (literature) is not only a part of history and lessons could a ‘deprogram’ ever really exist?

Is there a method of combining 'the religious good'?

I think this was discussed before on another thread.

But I think the only answer is truth. Unfortunately, in accepting the truth, the reality of what is before us, it breaks down and shreds apart the teachings of religions.

Where does religion fit in to a society that is driven by reality.

i haven't read them all and often find ideas within other threads

agreed

sure!

lots of the beliefs, but the lessons are still good; i think

eg... lesson A1, don't believe everything people say; if nobody lied, that rule would fade. (the religions share the rule but who follows it)

Where does religion fit in to a society that is driven by reality.

beliefs and rituals fade; the history and lessons are still a part of knowledge.
