How does this guy go from the Thai Cave Rescue to Hollywood vilification in literally one breath?

I have no idea what this guy's point is. And I watched the whole thing.
 
We had storms and a power failure today, so I sat on the porch with the dog while it was going on..

There's one corner where water drips down onto a flat surface, so in the boredom of the moment a flash of science happened! Since the water wasn't a steady source of uniform drops, what if I put a plastic cup under it and see if the cup ever fills up? I found one and placed it in the stream of rain and waited...

Sure enough! It never filled completely! The water splashed randomly enough that the surface in the cup was continually sloshed from one side to another before the next drop could hit.

I thought I was on to something that would require me to be able to solve the Navier-Stokes equations in my head, but no.

Sadly, my experiment was flawed. The damned cup had a pinhole at the bottom... :D

Yeah, I guess so.

I was posting a little science whatever, and found a flaw in my experimental setup. Next time it rains, if it ever does, I'll try again with a pre-tested cup. (I'm in Texas, so whether it rains again this summer is dependent on the Gulf of Mexico.)
