The Pope speaks: Muhammad had brought the world only "evil and inhuman" things. !!!!!

My logic is intact Truth' - like I said - Not all muslims are terrorists - but all terrorists are muslim - that speaks for itself.

Islam preaches:

"Fight those who do not believe in Allah, ... nor follow
the religion of truth... until they pay the tax in acknowledgment
of superiority and they are in a state of subjection."
Qur'an, Sura 9:29

Oh - and the Sharia law - quite sickening really

BUT! - If you believe that the world is a better place for having Islam in it then thats your choice - but I would question your values if this was the case. The world would be a safer and more peaceful world without Islam - it still wouldn't be a perfect world but it would be a giant step in the right direction.
Your logic doesn't follow. You say not all muslims are terrorists and then say that the world would be peaceful without islam? Only some 5% of muslims are terrorists or inclined to terrorism (maybe even less then 5%). So the problem is clearly not islam. Besides, not all terrorists are muslims.

Is this what they mean by 'Muslim tolerance'?

Listen to this: "Make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fate."

Or then again, this: "Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends."

Then there is the instruction to fight against those who are not of the true faith "until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued".

All are direct quotations from the Koran, which Muslims believe to be the absolute word of Allah, and which cannot be altered.

If you seek even more ferocious attacks on Christianity and Judaism, you will find them in the Hadith, Islam's other great book of scripture.

Stop the warmongering and calm the hell down. Muslims believe in taking interpretations, we don’t take verses from the Quran literally. You will not find one mufti (Not sure about the Salafis/Wahabis) in the Muslim World that calls for such aggression. Another thing, you have taken these verses from the Quran out of context. Traditional Islamic teachings forbid this, it is the best way to corrupt ones beliefs, (taking verses from the Quran out of context and using hadith with no understanding).

Show me one Mufti from the Muslim World that has called for terrorist attacks, for the harming of innocent people, for the invasion of America, Europe etc. I dare you. (Only Grand Muftis (Highest Islamic authority in a Muslim country) can declare Jihad)

Here is a link for you:

ON WAR AND WARRING

http://www.islamset.com/ethics/topics/onwar.html

Fighting should be directed only against fighting troops, and not to non fighting personnel. ..and this is in compliance with the verse of the Qoran already mentioned:

"Fight in the cause of God those who fight you. ..and do not trangress….”

In one of the battles a woman was found killed, and this was denounced by the Prophet saying "She did not fight" This will be further detailed under the instructions given to the armies and their commanding chiefs by the Prophet and his Caliphs.

Abu-Bakr's instructions to; Usama's Campaign on Syria (first caliph):

Do not betray or be treacherous or vindictive. Do not mutilate. Do not kill the children, the aged or the women. Do not cut or bum palm trees or fruitful trees. Dont slay a sheep, a cow or camel except for your food. And you will come across people who confined themselves to worship in hermitages. ..leave them alone to what they devoted themselves for."

None can be more illustrative in this respect than the words of the Qoran:

"0 ye who believe, stand out firmly for God, as witnesses to fair dealing. ..And let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just. ..that is closer to piety. And fear God ...for God is well acquainted with all that ye do." (5:9).

Pope stresses respect for Muslims

"I would like today to stress my total and profound respect for all Muslims," the Pope said in the speech.

He called for "sincere and respectful dialogue", adding that Christians and Muslims alike must reject all forms of violence and respect religious liberty.

Of course I wouldn't expect you to follow my logic, it is too clever for you to understand.

I cant follow the logic of quran bashers, believing in an imaginary being in the sky, and following the words of a "supposed leader" called phuh or something. They dance sing wail pray to something they can't touch, can't see ,can't hear - and then complain that they dont understand plain logic. Sheesh talk about the brainwashed masses -"Death to the infidels" they cry. what a bunch of nutters. If they cant fight the infidels they kill each other instead. Suicide bombs, 72 virgins - all bullshit

I dont have much time for religious nutters - and I had no opinion about the pope - But - He has my respect after telling the world his feelings about Islam - Its a shame all the yellow lily livered leaders of the West failed to endorse his words which they would have agreed with anyway

It would be refreshing to actually read a newspaper or watch the news without the words Terrorism and Islam jumping out at you everyday, its about time the media blanketed all news that is associated with Islam. I'm sick and tired of hearing the idiots warring with themselves or killing innocent people with their arrogant and violent acts. Muslims have given Islam a bad name - no-one else did it for them and its about time it stopped - no more - the world is sick of it

Type the word Terrorism or Islam into the Google news and you come up with the same results, those words go together like knife and fork, perfectly matched.

Are you atheist?

I think someone already made the point that the Renaissance was made possible by the Muslim libraries of ancient Greek and Roman texts. It would be foolish to discount all the contributions made to the world by Islamic people.

No. You are clearly illogical. I clearly showed you how your reasoning was wrong. You are just saying:
*demented voice*
"uh, I'm right and you are wrong because thats it".
*/demented voice*

Not clever.....

Not all muslims are terrorists. YOU said it yourself! :bugeye:

Your comments are simply charged with emotions. And it seems they cloud your logic...

RE: Popes Apology,

Perhaps the Pope is trying to get ME Islamic countries to allow Catholic missionaries to proselytize there? What better way to start this process than insinuate an insult, apologize for the “misinterpretation” and during said apology call for an agreement that all countries have religious respect and tolerance. If an Islamic country should refuse to allow proselytizing Xians to set up shop or allow a Muslim to freely convert into Xianity then it will only enhance the Pope’s image as enlightened and benevolent while further engrain Islam’s image as insincere and hypocritical.

Perhaps in the modern world Islam is Islam's own worse enemy.

If you disagree, give me an example and I might change my mind about that.
