In the Star Trek universe, the whole Eugenics program of an earlier century produced exceptional individuals like Khan Domian Singh (Ricardo Montalban), who also turned out to be an exceptional megalomaniac, and so experimenting in this manner was banned in the civilizations associated with the United Federation of Planets forever.

Just imagine living in a world populated by clones of Donald Trump.

I would submit that it depends on the mathematical challenges. But, IMO, if it can be done, we will do it someday. That is if we have enough time before we blow ourselves uo.

I agree, if it is mathematically possible, we will at least try to test it.
