The Intake of animal protein and B-12

Finding the importance of B-12 , from animal sources only

Would suggest that the evolution of the brain could very well because of animal and seafood protein

Suggesting that our ancestors went from a mostly veg. Diet , to a mostly animal protein diet ( which is where most B-12 comes from ) improved the brain , dramatically

Just throwing it out there , but it seems to make sense

Comments ?

From wikipedia on B-12

The main reason B-12 is obtained mostly from animal sources is because today most people wash and cook their vegetables.

The B-12 is in the bacteria that lives in the soil and on the plants. When we wash the plants we wash away the B-12.

Omega 3's (fatty acids) found in fish also contributed to improvement in brain health. (still does!) ;)

If you look to the animal kingdom, you'll find that there are two types that eat meat. Ones that hunt and ones that scavenge. I wouldn't suggest that the source of food was responsible for an improvement in the brain but in fact the course of problem solving when trying to either hunt or scavenge. This doesn't of course rule out that gathering (and eventually farming) can be challenging, as obviously it is. In fact there would likely be more forethought in growing a field of corn than sticking an arrow in a Deer.

Any way , B-12 is important for proper brain development

And you either get it through animal protein or through supplements

The brain needs nutrients to perform better
