The guy who owns the internet

That said, cyber squatters make me sick, and it should be illegal.

I dunno. Maybe if it someone's name. I think maybe you should have permission or have the name to own a name domain. Other than that I don't think it should be illegal. It's not illegal to be an ambulance chaser either.

Let's face it. You would never have thought to buying the domain name "youtube". because it sounds retarded.

But it is simple. And the people behind the website had a simple but great idea. I'm sure they had trouble finding a suitable domain name and had to settle for something like youtube.

What we have here is merely a lack of imagination on truthseekers part. There are millions and millions of possible domain names out there that will be perfect for the original business idea.

If your idea is to to something that has been done already with the same domain name, then yes, you can't find a cheap domain name. think of something else.

Technically you need a few stories of how to make money from domain names from just cyber-sitting to make the overall domain industry a viable business. For the most part sitters just end up paying for domains without ever accumilating any money from it, in fact they pay out and keep the overall market turning over.

I've got a number of domains, however they were never picked up just to squat, I've had individual ideas for each one however it's just a matter of needing a team of people to work on all of them to generate a turnover.

Well, the guy's genius was 2 layered:

1. First he recognized a good business opportunity and moved in quickly before it got to be popular idea. Also just like Gates, he decided to switch carrier quickly, and abandoned a good carrier.(risktaking)

2. He was good at writing programs to achive maximum profitability and get ahead of others when the list of aviable domains came out daily...

Interestingly, both 2 biggest players are Asian descent...

If you are going to start your own thing, a weird name is not a problem. But if you want to sell the name, names such as www.sgwskegjske.com would simply be a waste of money! :p

And what few people know is that he's also the man behind the domain world's latest scheme: profiting from traffic generated by the millions of people who mistakenly type ".cm" instead of ".com" at the end of a domain name.

Ham makes money every time someone clicks on an ad -- as does his partner in this venture, the West African country of Cameroon. Why Cameroon? It has the unforeseen good fortune of owning .cm as its country code -- just as Germany runs all names that end with .de.

The difference is that hardly any .cm names are registered, and the letters are just one keyboard slip away from .com, the mother lode of all domains. Ham landed connections to the Cameroon government and flew in his people to reroute the traffic. And if he gets his way, Colombia (.co), Oman (.om), Niger (.ne), and Ethiopia (.et) will be his as well.

Ha, that sneaky lil..

Eh....

I tested many good website addressess and all of them are pretty much taken...

And they are crappy too. Usually they are filled with ads and that's it. The internet is a pile of litter. :D

Most of those sites with crappy ads on them are owned by cyber squatters.
Many of them will have links to inquire about buying the site.

I'm not stupid one_raven.... :p

I got the game. But it's game over for someone that just started.
