M*W: Were the Romans responsible for the creation of the New Testament texts and Christianity? Was Christianity created by the Romans under the pseudonym "Paul?"

It has also been theoried that Christianity caused the fall of the Roman Empire.

Let's discuss.

ah! but who created the romans??
:p
According to them, the pagan Gods.

I don't think they made it all up from scratch, but they did compile and edit, and that's all it took to change the meaning and emphasis.

it was a mixture between their own religion, judaism (obviously), mithraism (obvious for anyone who knows that religion), and zoroastrianism (again, fairly obvious).

:m:

I thought Xianity started in Greece by Jews (original Xians) + in Egypt (again by Jews) and that it sort of spread little by little but was basically a non-descript back-water Cult. Then Constantine, because his wife was a Cult follower, was persuded to make Xianity the official Empyreal Religion, while retaining Mythra as the Protector of the Empire? A couple decisive battles later he was happy with the choice - apparently Xian fanatics are good at killing.

I mean, until then, most people continued to believe in their local Gods and Goddesses right?

It's a continuing theme in human history, the myths that regulate social organization get taken over by new masters intent on giving them their own meaning. The Hebrews reinvented Judaism several times, and Christians took over the solstice holidays, the goddess symbolism of the serpent, and who knows what else, in an attempt to establish a new kind of social order. They reinvented the earlier partnership organization, calling it Satanism, which it was not.

St. Paul he was roman and was the first to founded Christianity. He created the bible by mixing myths, plagiarizing legendary peoples of the time and plagiarizing other gods. His idea was to unify all the gods to make a single god and gain superiority of his book.

By gaining fans of his work, he founded his club as we all know today... Christianity.
