The 6th Harry Potter~

Thanks for the tip, Silas. Still don't completely trust Rowling though -- dead is dead, but then reborn is reborn....why WOULD she reveal something like that to the public.

Although I think you're probably right (especially based on that information), I'll hold out hope that Rowling has something planned for old Alby and is just too clever to get caught in a media net. :D

I like the fact that she killed him off, cause then Harry has to do it on his own instead of with help, cause it is a Harry Potter book not a dumbledore book

She need hardly have killed him off to do that. She even showed before he died that he was not invulnerable. It would have been relatively simple to have Harry face Voldemort alone and have Dumbledore absolutely unable to help him without Dumbledore being dead - after all this is precisely what happened at the climax of Goblet.

No, she killed Dumbledore in order to add one last crucial moulding event to Harry Potter's character. It's not that Harry has to face Voldemort alone, it's that he knows that he has to face him alone. He had Lily, who died to save him, then he had Sirius, who died in the fight against Voldemort, and he always had Dumbledore, who has now died at the hands of Snape - and Snape was the only other wizard powerful enough to help Harry and who was pledged to save his life, and has in his own way been removed from the list of possible helpers.
