Just heard that over 3500 people have swine flu here in the UK, with one confirmed death so far.

Should I be worried?

:runaway:

Yes, take a year off work, stock up on tinned food and stay indoors.

Maybe that is a good idea.

Seriously though, the government hasn't told us much....symptoms, who is more at risk, what to do if you feel ill, etc.
I've got an 18 month old boy to worry about, and I know nothing about swine flu!

Lol the swine flu is just silly. It has, what? A 1% mortality rate? And weren't most of the deceased infants and the elderly?

The fear from swine flu comes from the potential for danger, not necessarily the current risk it represents. Remember, flu viruses are highly mutable.

No, that's not true. Certain strains show different characteristics, and it's a very detailed investigation that causes alarm. This flu is not like all the other flu strains that are around from year to year.
