Why is it ok for people stranded on an actic mountain to eat eacch other in order to survive, but it's not ok for a homeless man who can't get a job because he was a felon years ago to steal someones purse to feed his children?

It's not OK to eat your companions if you are stranded on an arctic mountain. But, if they are already dead, that's not as bad as stealing. On the mountain, there are few options, but in civilization, you could always get a job or panhandle.

Yeah, or like in Las Vegas, where it's now illegal to give food or money to the homeless.

Do you know any homeless ex-felons who an employer would be willing to employ? What do you have against stealing?

Does not caring about them make them disappear?
Isn't it better to address an issue rather than ignore it?

it's not illegal to feed the homeless. what do you think a homeless shelter is? that rule applies to people who routinely hand out food in public parks and whatnot. it was designed to keep the homeless out of the public eye. as for the OP, i second the "get a job". :D

Actually it IS illegal to give food or money to homeless people in Las Vegas. As for the Get a Job approach to poverty and homelessness; Keep in mind literally millions of Americans are one medical bill or one paycheck away from poverty themselves. It's easy to sit back and mock those having hard times, entirely another when you are suddenly the one being mocked. You'd be surprised how many of the poor in the US are not career welfare cheats and obese gangbangers. That is the image encouraged by this feeding frenzy society.

you realise that in america people are labelled felons just for smoking weed? doesnt seem fair to me that something that should be legal will earn you the same disdainment as a serial killer.

Perhaps if they did not wish to become bums, they should not have first became felons?

Why ought we change marijuana's legality? And regardless of whether it "should" be legal, it is still a felony.
