The doctor told me I have severe strep throat and moderate tonsilitis.

I can' eat, I can't sleep, I can't swallow...I have killer headaches, body pains, my eyes burn, my glands are the size of golf balls, and I've spent the last two days (and nights) lying in bed spitting into a cup.

It sucks.

Doc gave me some antibiotics, but he said they won't take effect until about the 3rd day. I need something to kill the pain NOW! I've tried eating peanut butter, ice cream, popsicles etc. I've tried drinking tea, sucking on lozenges...nothing works. My roomate told me about something called Chloroseptic spray, which I think I'll give a try. Has anyone ever used this stuff?

Do any of you know of a way to kill the pain of a throat infection? Please help, I'm desparate!
 
try ummm strepsals?

i cant rember which brand it is but i had a really sore throat to swollow and i went into the chemist and told them and they gave me some throat losingers

they were GREAT

i couldnt FEEL my throat after one suck:D
 
Yip Strepsils. Great Throat Lozenges. Can get them very cheap and they're sold in almost every chemist and supermarket.

Also cutting off a limb may help. Your brain will be concerntrating on that pain and you'll feel nothing in your throat! Science does work!
 
How about no more ice cream, peanut butter or popsicles, they are probably congesting your system even more and they are doing you no good. It sounds like you need to take a pain killer but make sure that you can take them and that you are not allergic to them. Try and sleep it out.
 
That spray stuff will make your throat numb, and it's really annoying, no matter how much pain your in.
 
Go get high. Morphine. Get drunk. All to the point where you wouldnt care if it hurts or not. Enjoy.
 
shove a lit m-80 down ur throat.
if scuicide isnt the way out (wich it almost always is...) try staring at porn for a few hours. ur mouth will water so much that it will wash the pain away. besides some good beastophilia is always fun, even when ur well!
