Have we even discovered anything new during Stem Cell Research or is it just pointless to keep wasting money on such a thing?

As with any new research it takes time to develop things from it that will work without any side effects. Here's a site that you can read about what they are doing in many places with the research:

Of course we have! Have you tried looking for sources of info? There is no end of info out there that will explain where stem cell research has come from, where it is today, where it is going and why.

There are actual clinical treatments for cancer that have arisen from stem cell research. Here is one example:

The potential clinical treatments for congenital and degenerative disorders that are likely to come from continued stem cell research are awesome.
Research money spent to date has not been wasted, and it is not pointless to keep investing money in this exciting area of biomedical research.

It's being looked into for myelin restoration in MS patients, or at least may maintain it. Keep supporting it.
