Smiling too much can be a sign of insincerity actually. America places a peculiar amount of importance on smiling especially in the past. It was pathetically motivated by the belief that smiling people in america meant that america is great and no one should have anything to complain about because most americans who were smiling were getting things their way so all should be happy and smiling to satisfy their ego. This is asslevel shallow.
There was a case where cashiers in a grocery store were encouraged to be too friendly and smile. What happened was they became solicited because customers thought their overt friendliness meant they were easy because of their forced and unnatural giving manner. This is what I don't understand about americans and their cultural and behavioral understandings. They don't place any value on dignity because they are too busy trying to reaffirm eachothers insecurities, it's disgusting.
I remember especially when I was younger american strangers even demanding and criticizing if I didn't smile enough even though I was not frowning. They had a problem with me carrying a normal expression even because of their own insecurity as if smiling would cover up their own sins or responsibilities they want to hide from themselves and it was also your responsibility to be dictated to by them to protect their fragile and pompous ego. They can fuck themselves and go to hell.
I don't know what it is about the american breed but dang, they are so dislikeable to me all around to the point I'm almost disgusted even though they think they are great, I see underneath it all they are no better or maybe worse.

We smile, usually at the naive nature of peoples posts with lack of research into particular subjects.
There are certain differences between America and England that would represent reasoning into why some people have worse tooth decay than others.
Firstly the UK doesn't always see sun shine, unlike California for instance. It's usually damp, dark and dismal for the winter months then it gets a little less damp for the rest of the year.
It's a known fact that sunlight does aid the human body in particular vitamin synthesis which also promotes better teeth.
Lastly the US is renound for paying for everything (Capitalism) where as the UK continues to have it's NHS (National Health Service). The difference is that the NHS dentists do a 'Chore' while US ones do a 'Job'. If they don't do their job good enough then it's bad for business, with the NHS your lucky if you don't get shoved on a waiting list or leave the room with any teeth intact.
Perhaps a change in dentistry in regards to a more Capitalistic ideology would be better but due to the GBP being strong (a pretty bloated currency I might add) and the high taxation on anything people choose to spend money on in the UK, only the people in work would be able to afford the dental care.
But this brings us to another point, I've seen on my travels in America people with teeth as bad as anyone in the UK, it's just down to the income disparity.

Beautiful teeth are a matter of personal responsibility, pride, and dignity. There is NO excuse for looking like you have a mouthful of sh!t.

My molars came in without enamel when I was still in elementary school. Of course, I didn't know this, and despite brushing twice a day, I got cavities. If I didn't come from a middle class family, I wouldn't have been able to get fillings and my teeth enameled.
