I do not believe Baron Max would ever say something like that:
Please anyone who can confirm is my best friend.
Is it a blip, or the begining of the end for Mr Obama? Obama appears to be certain that the race is over. He's kicking all reporters whose newspapers endorsed McCain off his plane, banning any stations who have the temerity to ask tough questions from any future interviews, in short, he's acting like an arrogant ass. And now, for the first time since right after the Republican convention, McCain has taken the lead over Obama. Reminds me of one of those sports bloopers videos where a guys is about to cross the finish line, raises his hands to celebrate when another guy comes from behind and passes him.
Republican John McCain has pulled back within the margin of error... The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday, one day, polling. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all... http://www.drudgereport.com/
Here are some more reasons this may be happening:
1) One poll has undecided voters at 14 percent on the last weekend, which means most of them probably really aren’t undecided, that they are either going to stay home or vote preponderantly for McCain and pull McCain across the finish line.http://www.commentarymagazine.com/blogs/index.php/jpodhoretz/40841
2) Most pollsters are claiming the electorate this year is six to nine points more Democratic than it is Republican. That would be an unprecedented shift from four years ago, when the electorate was evenly divided, 37-37, Republican and Democratic, and a huge shift from two years ago, when it was 37-33 Democratic. A shift of this size didn’t even happen after Watergate.
3) Obama frequently outpolled his final result in primaries, which might have many causes but might also indicate that he has difficulty closing the sale.
4) The argument in the past two weeks has shifted, such that many undecided voters who are now paying attention are hearing about Obama’s redistributionist tendencies at exactly the right moment for McCain.
5) The tightening in several daily tracking polls indicates a modest surge on McCain’s part that could continue through the weekend until election day. If he is behind by three or four points right now, a slow and steady move upward could push him past the finish line in first place.
6) In terms of the electoral map, the energy and focus McCain is directing at Pennsylvania could pay huge dividends if he pulls it off. If he prevails there, it might follow that the message will work in Ohio too. And if he wins Pennsylvania and Ohio, he will probably win even if he loses Virginia and Colorado.
7) Early voting numbers are not oceanic by any means, which may indicate the degree of enthusiasm for Obama among new voters is not something new but something entirely of a par with past candidates, like John Kerry. And they show more strength on the Republican side than most people expected.
8) What happened with the Joe the Plumber story is that Obama has now been effectively outed as a liberal, not a moderate; and because liberalism is still less popular than conservatism, that’s not the best place for Obama to be.
9) The fire lit under Obama’s young supporters in the winter was largely due to Iraq and his opposition to the war. The stunning decline in violence and the departure of Iraq from the front page has put out the fire, to the extent that, like the young woman who made a sexy video calling herself Obama Girl and then didn’t vote in the New York primary because she went to get a manicure, they might not want to stand on line on Tuesday.
10) Hispanic voters, who are always underpolled, know and appreciate McCain from his stance on immigration and will vote for him in larger numbers than anyone anticipates.
I loved the bit about how the Obama girl didn't even bother to go out and vote for Obama! That's just the kind of arrogance I'm looking for. McCain's always been known for his comebacks. This may be his best one yet! I know the poll I linked to is only one poll, but son of a bitch, it's good to have something to be excited about. This race is not over. Go McCain!

Guess what?!
Pentagon Clears Flying-Car Project for Takeoff
Pentagon mad-science division Darpa is helping build thought-controlled robotic limbs, artificial pack mules, real-life laser guns and "kill-proof" soldiers. So it comes as no surprise, really, that the agency is now getting into the flying-car business, too.
Darpa hopes its "Personal Air Vehicle Technology" project, announced yesterday, will ultimately lead to a working prototype of a military-suitable flying car -- a two- or four-passenger vehicle that can "drive on roads" one minute and take off like a helicopter the next. The hybrid machine would be perfect for "urban scouting," casualty evacuation and commando-delivery missions, the agency believes.
Flying cars have been a just-around-the-corner promise for decades, of course. Today, several companies swear that they are just on the verge of manufacturing such machines. Terrafugia claims its folding-wing mini-plane will be ready to deliver by 2009. Pal-V has a three-wheeled gyrocopter thingy. Urban Aeronautics promises to do the whole thing without any wings or rotors at all. And let's not even get into the personal flying saucers.
Darpa says its Cessna-sized combo vehicle should be able to cruise at 60 mph on land, and 150 mph in the air. It should be able to stay aloft for two hours on a tank of fuel. "The challenge," the agency says, "is to define the major components of such a vehicle that would be suitable for military scouting and personnel transport missions, yet are small enough, inexpensive enough, and easy enough to operate that it can be widely used."
To make the flying car work, Darpa believes, makers will have to use "morphing wings" to ease the transition from road to sky; "optimized disk loading" propulsion, "for the combined fly/drive mission"; and strong flight control software. Darpa isn't making an enormous commitment to the flying car, just yet. This is a project aimed at small business; contracts of this type are typically under a million dollars per year. But maybe, with a small Pentagon push, the flying car dream could finally clear the ground. http://blog.wired.com/defense/2008/1...-flying-c.html
People who believe in the "Lone Shoe Thrower" theory are extremely gullible. We are supposed to believe that a single man removed and threw two shoes at President Bush in under three seconds? There was clearly a second thrower.
Plus, did you see the way Bush dodged? Like he knew the shoes were coming. No old man can dodge like that without forewarning. This was clearly a plot by the Bush administartion that they are now blaming on shoe terrorists.
Americans should just pick one Senate seat and make it an hereditary title for the Kennedy family. The stipulation would be that Princess Caroline must wait for King Theodore to pass to his eternal reward before she can take up her birthright powers over the plebes. Throw another two seats to the Clintons and Bushes respectively, to their heirs forever.
This would leave only ninety-seven up to the highest corporate and special interest bidder - but I think it's a fair trade.
