Ruzzle/Riddle Thread

The ping pong ball will move in the same direction as you push it. The ball is lighter than water so all the water will resist the change in velocity and slosh to the rear of the jar. Meanwhile the ball will be forced forward into the space left by the relocating water.

A man just bought a 2.1 meters long foot fishing rod. The store put it in a long package, slightly more than 2.1 meters long the man stepped on the bus to go home, but the driver said that you are not allowed to bring any package on the bus that is more then 2 meters long. The man went back in the shop, and couple of minutes later got on the bus and went happily home with his fishing rod. What did they do in the store?

You cannot (not even slightly) bend the rod
Packaged the rods diagonally in another shorter package.

Geodesic, correcto.

A certain 5 letter word becomes shorter when you add 2 letters to it. What is this word?

When somebody says my name I disappear. Who am I?

There is a jug of wine, and a larger barel of water. Lets take a dipper of wine and add it to the water. Then we take a dipper of the water/wine mixture and pour it back into the wine barrel.
Is there now more wine in the water, or more water in the wine?

Silence.

There is the same volume of water in the wine as there is wine in the water - the total volume in the barrel and the jug is the same after the two steps, so the volume of water placed in the wine jug must be equal to the volume of wine remaining.
This means there is a higher concentration of water in the wine than wine in the water. :D

Wow, 2inquisitive, I have never heard of the word Duoliteral and I didn't think uncomplimentary was actually a word. But I guess it is.

Which two English words each contain all 6 vowels once (including Y), in ascending alphabetical order?

FACETIOUSLY
ABSTEMIOUSLY
ADVENTITIOUSLY

Again, google is my friend! And I do know what facetious means. The others I might
need to look up to be sure, heh.

Whoop! I went through the spellings rather quickly looking for duplicate vowels, but
I must have skipped the 'I'. I guess I did it only HALF-SERIOUSLY.
