Which is it?

Is there anything that is empirically wrong or right - outside a legal structure or perception? Without structure would there be such a thing as right and wrong? Or, is it simply good v. bad? And, if so why?

Everything related to ethics, morality, and justice are all based on personal opinions and perceptions...So no, there wouldn't be morality outside a set system of morals lol :p

So what you're saying is; sociatal structures provide the parameters of right and wrong. Then, logically speaking, w/o society there is no such thing as right and wrong... Can this be so?

i don't really believe in right vs wrong, good vs. evil. There are too many x-factors like motive and the like. The proverbial "they" says thats a trademark of my generation, the post-modern disbelief of good and evil.

they may be on to something.

Ideas of right and wrong are determined by which particular moral philosophical framework you use. However, virtually all well-founded systems agree on certain matters. That is probably because of our common human evolutionary heritage.

Good is something that has good consequences, bad is something that has bad consequences. What has good consequences for others must also have good consequences for you, otherwize the whole scenario is still bad.

Right and wrong are accepted good or bad. What's right to do, isn't allways what's good to do, at least not good for all parts. For example we can take a bad person, the right thing to do may be to put him in jail, while the good thing to do may be to cure him from the bad. What's good to do is often restricted because we do not take the effort (to cure prisoners instead of punishing them (for example)) and do not have the money or patience - time.

But do you consider those nearly universal common concepts of right/wrong and good/bad to be correct by virtue od concensus?
Do you think there is a de facto universal morality?
Do you think there should be?
