How long does it take to fire a gun and could a fighter have a quicker reaction to actually hit the person then it would take the other person to pull the trigger.

It is certainly possible. Different people have different reaction times. It could take longer to pull a gun and aim it than to hit your opponent, assuming they are within striking distance.

According to Dr. Lewinski's research,
the average officer response time from
making the decision to shoot and actu-
ally pulling the trigger is about .25 of a
second. This does not include drawing
the gun. For the average officer to
draw his gun under stress, point the
firearm at the target, obtain a sight pic-
ture and fire a round averages about
1.71 seconds.
