Rap or Crap?

Just going back to the argument for a second. Sorry to say this Cool Skill but there is some form of truth in what G. F. Schleebenhorst says. Well only the bit about whites being disadvantaged in certain area's. Time and time again i see people getting grants or scholarships based on "income" before me when i'm actually quite a poor person and so is my family. Usually these scholarships or grants go to people of ethnic background. Yes i'll admit they are financially poor, but no more than me. If we want to promote equality then we have to get rid of the notion of "sorry for being an asshole in the past so we'll make up for it now". Lets all move on as one society no matter your ethnic background.

P.S. You have no idea how much it hurts to say i agree with G. F. Schleebenhorst, because usually whatever he has to say is such crap :p
I don't see what your complaint is.
A white person that has every advantage in every area making complaints that others get scholarships before him seems fairly ignorant to me.
White people complaining when certain circumstances allow advantages to others. It's pretty pathetic, and shows disregard for others.
The next time I visit the jungle, and see people being trampled by elephants, I'll cry about being bitten by a mosquito.

In other words, I hope you can find more important things to complain about because complaining when others get a certain privalage over a white person is a joke compared to how much white people get over others.

Ummmm....what he was saying is that he was declined financial support when an "ethnic" person of the same financial means as him received financial support.

What he is saying was that there was no difference between his circumstances and the successful applicant's than the colour of their skin.

Cool skill, do you think only white people are capable of racism?

I already read what he said.
I guess you are only capable of reiterating what he said because you have yet to post what I said. That is because you choose to ignore what I said. You are an ignorant moron.

No, I "reiterated" what he said, because you clearly hadn't understood what he was saying. Or at least that's what it seemed like. What exactly did I ignore? You're the one skipping questions and telling us that racism is equality.

Look, I shall make this simple.

A white man and a black man live in the same area of a city.
They both earn exactly the same. They both live at home.
They both apply for financial aid to go to university.

The black man gets approved because he is not white. The white man does not, because he is white.

Are you seriously telling me that you consider that "equality"? Please tell me what "advantages" this hypothetical white man (from my example in this post) has over the black man from my example in this post. Since you assert that this hypothetical white man has advantages "in every area" you shouldn't have trouble coming up with specific examples.

You remain completely ignorant of the point which I have reiterated over and over again, yet you refuse to acknowledge. You furthermore turn an ignorant blind eye to reality otherwise you would not be asking for examples that are everywhere you go. If you do not see it all over the place, you no doubt choose to remain ignorant about it.

Exactly. This pretty much sums up why we have affirmative action. A black person is at a disadvantage to a white person almost everywhere. Affirmative action helps even the score.

And I mentioned A tribe called quest to show non-violent rap, because people complain about violent rap. It doesn't all have to be that way. Plus, I do like them. Jazz rap is quite a natural pairing.

None of you can explain how a white man has "every advantage" over a black man in the same area and of the same financial means. All you can do is mumble "you are ignorant" over and over again. You skip every simple question, and advocate racism as equality.

Please explain how getting a foot in the door ahead of a white person in education and the workplace is a "disadvantage".

Please explain how being refused a university place based on the colour of your skin isn't racism.

I agree with G. F. Schleebenhorst, it's racism, whatever you choose to call it, and two wrongs don't make it right.

Exactly my point Avatar... I just think if we're going to get anywhere with the whole concept of racism, we need to drop the whole Affirmative Action idea. Put everything on an even playing ground and let it all go from there. Like i've mentioned before, how does saying "oh we were assholes in the past but we'll make it up to you now, he's $5000 to get through Uni" fix things? Its just racism in a different form. How bout we scrap all of racism against anyone full stop? Let scholarships and grants be awarded on the basis of need rather than race or ethnicity, let courts serve justice on an even keel, let the welfare department give out money based on situation rather than on the colour of skin.

Alas, however, i'm a realist and understand that racism will always be a problem with society... and subsequently people will always be disadvantaged whether they are white, black or any other race, creed and ethnicity... Utopia will never happen...

It really comes down to that cool skill is just an idiot that is in the ignore lists of 98% of the usual/old members of these forums.

You are the one that is known to make racist comments against blacks, and beleive that whties are superior. The only idiot is you.

Nobody gives a crap about affirmative action. Is it racsit or not? Who cares? Is it good or bad? Who cares? It's not a huge issue. It has nothing to do with the point.

The point is the real racism that goes on in America. As long as racists intentionally turn their blind to the serious racial discrimination that is going on, they will remain in their cave of ignorance. "Oh racial discrimination? Whites get far more advantages? Where? I don't see any. Please give me some examples." What a moron.

Yeah. We already discussed that. It's called Affirmative Action....

Please at least provide some specific examples of this "real" racism. Would you like some statistics for black on white crime vs. white on black crime?

There was some experiment somewhere where they sent off identical fake applications to jobs. They were identical in every mean except for the name. One was blacker sounding, and one was whiter sounding. The white name was more likely to get the job. I can't site the study, but I did read it in freakonomics, and the sources are cited. So are we racist for trying to correct the imbalance? Surely not as racist as we would be if we didn't. Positive discrimination. One example. There are more, of course. Do you think minorities tend to be poorer and less well off because they are truly inferior, or because the system causes it?

Poverty is a result of economic forces. The invisible hand digging into the pockets of the poor for the sake of supporting the rich.

Still waiting for those specific examples. If racism is so rampant why are you dodging all the easy questions I'm giving you? Don't you want to prove that racism is such a problem for minorities in the US?

I don't have to prove anything. Any moron that walks outside the door can see it every day. What makes you think I want to give examples to some idiot racist? Your reasoning is that it is not happening because I refuse to provide any examples. Get real. If you refuse to acknowledge reality, that is your racist problem. Not mine.
