Racist!

It's all about the ratings. Let's face it, it's brilliant TV. The voyeurs got what they wanted, the station got its ratings, Shetty got her (international) publicity and so did Goody, but the whole thing is sad, cynical and as shallow as a wet pavement.

The politicians that got involved in the outcry are dimwits, but there's nothing new there.

I didn't think she got any really racist comments either, though the attitude was amazing (but I've never seen a CBB show before so its probably the norm).

I wasn't aware though that there was a problem with racism in the UK as some people commented on NDTV.

From Jackson to Clinton, there have been quite a few low-caste US Presidents. Clinton was even black, too.

You've never heard a word from me on that topic. I understand the state of the religious state, whether it India or the US. That is why I promote the end of religious doctrine worldwide, rather than just local infiltration.

Sure do hear a lot of nostalgia for the good old days though.

Funny thing about humans, they can put up with a bit of hardship for their ideals. Know what killed communism in the Soviet Union?
Glasnost.
Honesty.
Letting the people know that their heroes and their sacrifices were in vain and that they were taken advantage of.

But, still, they preferred subsisting to starving, for some strange reason.

Communism is a great ideology but it presupposes values that humans seem reluctant to endorse. Perhaps in time we may come to appreciate the value of other human beings as something more than means to an end.
