Question about human and canine DNA...

The perpetual mystery surrounding this comparison, for me, is the lack of diversity of humans compared to that found in the canine world.

Why do dogs vary wildly in size, temperament etc, whereas humans seem only to vary dramatically in colour?

Thanks in advance,

Jaybee.

1) We have deliberately bred dogs for variety.
2) Humanity suffered a choke point, when populations numbers globally fell to a few thousands, around 70,000 years ago, so that there have been very few generations over which diversity could develop.
