Poll: Most Americans Want a Biblical Leader as President

when you say Biblical leader, does that mean like a leader in the Bible or a leader who reads the Bible? Cuz I think you're gonna find one who acts like a leader from the Bible, not one who actually reads it. And a lot of those leaders were really mean or had a lot of wives.

SHORTY, I'M SORRY YOU SAW THAT I SAID YOU WERE A BITCH

Re: Topic Title — "Poll: Most Americans Want a Biblical Leader as President"

Polls also suggested that most Americans believed, at the time of our invasion of Iraq, that Saddam Hussein was in some way materially responsible for 9/11, and that we would find significant quantities of WMD.

More recently, polls have botched presidential vote projections in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

And a vast majority of Americans believe in God despite a glaring lack of evidence and a long tradition of sacred texts being wrong about nature.

The worst/stupidest thing a born-again did in the past 20 years was Ted Haggard and his insanity. I never said we were perfect. We're just not violent.

60% of those polled say they would be more likely to vote for a presidential candidate who speaks publicly about following the example of admirable leaders from the Bible and who uses the Bible for guidance in public and personal matters.

"And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead." (Exodus 12:29-30)

"Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people." (Deuteronomy 13:8-9)

"Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword." (Deuteronomy 13:15)

"Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished." (Isaiah 13:15-16)

How could you leave out the part with the bears??

Huckabee ought to be a shoo-in, then. The Christian Republicans should make sure he is nominated.

Does the Book of Mormon count ?

He isn't insane. He's a self hating closet case. Despite his best efforts, his desire for sex with another man finally overrode his ability to deny it. Trying to force people to be something they are not only hurts them and their loved ones.

Geez, god is such a dick.

So all those born again members who bombed abortion clinics weren't being violent?

What about your President (who is a born again) who started a war based on a lie? He was not being violent? Oh wait, I'm sorry, he sent others out to die for his own cause.

Making a blanket statement about how you're 'just not violent' is wrong. Because there are violent born again Christians who have killed and maimed others.

Born-agains don't bomb clinics. Never have. Never will. W went after Saddam and got him. The evil muslim terrorists came out in droves to prevent democracy. We still have no proof on Haggard but just the allegation was enough to make him step down.
I understand you hate our country, hate our president, hate our God, and hate us. We don't care.

Here's a quiz:
Which leader that Sandy approves of follow's Jesus' command to turn the other cheek?
Biblical ideals of leadership are, well, male, yes they are all male. This certainly leads to short term gains for Sandy in relation to Mrs. Clinton, but does she consider herself and other conservative 'hotties' out of the running given Biblical role models?

Does being mated with by God count as a leaderships style?
How about being one of many wives?
And then there's Eve?

Delilah?
I wonder if Margret Thatcher can be considered someone who fits Bible leadership even though she's the taboo XX?

The majority of Americans want a president who mirrors Biblical ideals of leadership. 60% of those polled say they would be more likely to vote for a presidential candidate who speaks publicly about following the example of admirable leaders from the Bible and who uses the Bible for guidance in public and personal matters.

78% of respondents (86% of women and 68% of men) view candidates citing Scripture when explaining political positions as positive.

Most Americans voters want a candidate who has a servant-leader attitude. Respondents are more likely to support a candidate who sees the office as a privilege to serve others, with a responsibility to God.

Amen. :bravo:

Fact: We went to war in the middle east

Fact: War is violent

It does not matter whether it is justified, or who started what. We are currently fighting in a war. To deny that is being intellectually dishonest.
