Peter Jackson to make The Hobbit!

McKellen will be on board for more Gandalf as well.

No one else would be accepted by the fans at this point.

TWO Hobbit films ?

Is the man that enamored of slow motion shots ?

I mean - I liked the LOTR films. Just watched all 3 of 'em on TV over last weekend as a manner of "uber-blizzard" sort of passed thru this area & restricted travel somewhat.

At some point, however, I realized there were just too God damned many slo-mo shots !

is that offical?

because a while ago, he said he was making the hobbit and then said he wasnt going to, and it was all sorts of fan hobbit threads on the internet, (a bit like the link that was posted here) i do hope he does, but 2??

gollem?

have you ever read there and back again. if it is split into 2 movies more of the book can be put on film

Apparently, the idea is to have two "Hobbit" movies. First based on book and the second to describe the ages between "Hobbit" and "Fellowship".

It's not confirmed yet, but Jackson would be logical choice for director. Although, there were rumours that he refused to film it and that Sam Reimi will be director :)mad:).
Also, it's still mystery which actors will participate. Ian McKellen should be Gandalf, Ian Holm will be digitally de-aged (according to speculations).
I would love to see Jack Black in one of the roles (he was my favourite for Samwise Gamgee role in the LOTR movies).

Anyway, it will be nice to see Thorin Oakenshield and Smaug on the screen. :)

Peter Jackson sux. He wasn't just untrue to the books for time constraints, but at times because he and his writers thought that they were improving the original. They left out some quite important parts and put in some really stupid ones.

I also have issue with his shoddy battle scenes. Ex1: In movie 1, lazy Uruk-Hai extras fall the wrong way, and in the midst of a the chase at the end they are too lazy to hustle down the stairs, honestly they were going two feet per single stair. Also in that part there are is some mismatch from one frame to the next, I forget what it was exactly. Ex2: in the last movie, when Aragorn comes with his green jelly ghost army they basically just make a green blob over anything and end the battle.

If Peter Jackson were a character from lord of the rings he'd be the evil hobbit from the end of the book.
