I was thinking nothing can be assumed to be at rest, so everyone's ruler is length contracted to some extent, everyone's clocks are time dilated to the same extent, and in no situation will the light reflect off his mirrors simultaneously, they all happen to everyone and not just Homer!
Could you live with that?
