On a slashdot this story was posted, which linked to this product spec. Basically, the idea is to use neural networks to guess the ideal packet size for an environment.
I'm a bit excited about this... it's the first "real world" application of AI concepts I've seen in some time. But perhaps that is only because I'm just not paying enough attention. I'm wondering if anyone else knows of other recent practical applications of AI that would fit within a normal sized budget?
