Need help! What is this?

Hey -- I found these little buggers swimming around in my fish tank. Just trying to get an ID on them.

Put one under the scope and took a couple pics -- here it is:

I cannot help you, but I can suggest that there are dedicated fish/aquarium forums that are probably more likely to provide answers if you receive none here. Just Google with combinations of “fish+aquarium+disease+forum” etc and I’m sure you’ll find them. <P>

Cute aren't they? (New here, pardon me if I make a booboo in posting.) They look like ostracods to me. (If you check out google with "Ostracoda") you will probably get a hundred thousand hits. But just quickly, they are crustaceans and they are predatory, feeding on Daphnia and the like.

If your fish eat Daphnia and Cyclops etc, they will probably eat ostracods as well.
