just wondering what is the basis of "Muslim Morality" is, if the following is true:

1) Arab code of honor violated by Mohammad when:
a. he broke the Treaty of Hudaybiyya
b. made war during Ramadan on entering Mecca armed
2) Took advantage of:
a. Women- marrying rich, then marrying often
b. Arabs- by subverting & using their new-found inquiry of religion (Hanifs) to establish islam
3) example of Mohammad as the perfect man?
a. revenge, pettiness, murderous, slavery
b. lies, deceit, banditry, plunder, rape
4) emphasis is on externals only:
a. jihad of the mind should be celebrated & those that lived it should be given heaven,
b. not those that died in jihad of the sword, as was then & is today
5) where are the great MLK’s & Gandhi’s of islam, in:
a. human rights
b. peace
c. ecology
d. politics
e. philanthropy
f. futurism

To answer 5 in short - the Arab world has, sadly, not been at it's cultural peak for some years. That the West (and therefore India, by extension of influence) came around exactly at the right time for all these great advances in culture (human rights, peaceful rebellion, etc.) is just the way things went down. They went down, we went up. Before our progress began, the Islamic world was making most of the world's wonderful statements in philosophy and culture.

I'm confused about point 1b do you think it is Amoral to make war, or to make war on Ramadan specifically? I don't think people's morality is founded in scripture, just their justification for villainy, so you pointing out that Islam promotes bad behavior is pretty moot, because that's pretty much what every organized religion exists for.

.

Religion is just a 'World View' of a particular era.

General 'world-view' is not static. Like culture and arts, It's dynamic and keeps changing.

Perceptions have greatly expanded since the days Islam was founded or for that matter any religion.

It's the ground reality, Logic and Reason that should dictate our course of actions.

Didn't Christians do the same thing for 1700 years?
It wasn't until secular humanism really told Christians to sit down and shut the fuck up that the world became a better place.
