How does our human brain determine which music we like? In my case, I'm more of a well-rounded person. I listen to rock, rap, metal, everything except country and grindxcore. Why don't I like these two?

This is hardly a para-psychological question, more a psychological one.

In truth there is no single answer, some people might like a particular genre because of peer pressure, others might like the lyrics, others still might like the ability to rip the live acoustic to learn for their own jam sessions. If you don't like a particular genre perhaps you don't identify yourself with it, or identify yourself with the people that listen to it, perhaps the lyrics are just noise or the music itself is.

Haha, yeah. I see that this is the same with a good number of people. Our society is full of cliques such as emo, rocker, prep, etc. I suppose our interpretation of ourself boils down to our outlook and the ways we interpret.
