Bunk and baloney.
The terrorists didn't need a TV to know that rescuers were coming. These fights were tactical: Building to building, and room to room. No TV reports were announcing what door was being knocked in next. I find it disgusting when (as in the 9-11 aftermath) armchair critics smear the blame around, as if it can be prevented in any open society for determined criminals to kill. Defeating terrorism (both as isolated events, and as period trends) does not require that societies develop information-stifling reflexes, crack SWAT teams on every corner, or secretive police states. When murderers strike, rescuers will react with cunning, courage, and the resources at hand until it's over, and that's where we should leave it.
