Nah, the cops are usually calm. but probably were not prepared. Guns? I said before, they only get arms if its necessary. We call in the military asap when we need arms.
 
sam, some how i think it was nessary today concidering how many cops are amongst the dead sadly. I have a feeling that policy of not being armed while on duty is over, you dont lose what 18? cops including 5 top brass without the cops demanding procidural changes

Just spoke to my family, trains are now running, banks are open and everything is as normal apart from the places where the terrorists are holed up [Taj, Oberoi, Nariman House]. People are going to work as usual.
 
Thanks, according to my dad, its all normal everywhere. Everything is business as usual. They went to the market and called the bank, buses and trains are running as usual.
 
This is bad bad trouble.
The repercussions of this could far outweigh the initial act,
terrible though that was.

The only way to prevent terrorism is to have a totalitarian regime.

It's a dirty world, Draq, and there is little any government--free or not--can do to prevent a highly motivated group from doing harm.

You don't. You live your life as normal. You go on like normal. The goal of terrorism is to destroy a way of life. If you change everything to accommodate them, then they win.

I thought you might ask this question, but I think you know the answer.

Attacks against Muslim minorities in rural areas.
Increased tension between India and Pakistan.
Increased intolerance in India.

This is exactly what terrorists want.
They don't want a peaceful situation where people allow for their differences, and get on together.

I don't know a huge deal about the situation in India.
You live there and know a great deal more about it than I do.
If you truly believe that this attack can not have massive repercussions, then I'm probably wrong. I hope so.
