Multiple terror attacks in Mumbai

umm sam Australia doesnt embam bodies either, they are kept in the cool room. 7 days is usual for a funeral in australia for a NORMAL case, if its a coronors case (for any reason, medical, foul play, anything else you could think of) then it could take MONTHS to get the body.

You are right, I believe that these are international practices and have nothing do with any region or religion etc. Specially in a case like Mumbai when Indians were claiming where the terrorists were from without even investigating, then it raise questions about their practices, their claims and overall handling of this matter, if they would have only waited little longer to start the propaganda and lies, people might have believed it.

I think Pakistan should just admit that they suck at self governance and join the second largest economy in the world. :D

Slowly SAM, slowly....some of the truth might come out...

Mumbai attacks: First evidence of home-grown terror link

Officers said they had maps seized from a man picked up in February suggesting intelligence gathering had begun more than a year ago.

Police apparently failed to recognise the importance of the nine maps, which included detailed floor plans of the Taj Mahal Palace hotel and marked the position of Mumbai's main railway terminus, after arresting Faheem Ansari.

Both locations were targeted by gunmen last week, alongside a hotel complex, a restaurant and a Jewish resident.

Ansari, who was born in India, has been accused of joining the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) after emigrating to Dubai five years ago.

Officials said that he subsequently travelled to Pakistan where he was trained by LeT leader Yusuf Muzammil at the same camp where the lone survivor of the Mumbai attacks, Amir Azam Qasab was allegedly trained.

Ansari was arrested in February in northern India carrying hand-drawn sketches of hotels, the train terminal and other sites that were later attacked in Mumbai, said Amitabh Yash, director of the Special Task Force of the Uttar Pradesh police.

Mr Ansari also had up-to-date blueprints of the Taj Mahal Palace hotel that were better than those available to the security services, Mr Yash said.

The revelation amounted to a double blow for the government and security forces, which have suffered a public backlash as anger grows over security lapses that led up to the deaths of 171.

It also undermined government attempts to focus international pressure on Pakistan by raising the spectre of home-grown terrorist involvement in the plot to attack the country's richest city.

Indian has the world's second largest Muslim population but is extremely sensitive to suggestions that its own citizens harbour Pan-Islamic grievances against the state.

Manmohan Singh, the Indian prime minister, lashed out at Pakistan again, stating it was unacceptable that the territory of neighbouring state had been used to perpetrate an act of terror.

Indian officials continue to brief that Pakistan's spy agency Inter Services Intelligence was involved in training the group of 10 behind the attack. "The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) connection was clear and evident," the Times of India quoted Indian intelligence sources as saying.

Ansari was alleged to have stayed in a guesthouse in the southern district of Mumbai where the terrorists arrived on fast boats from the sea last week. The material he collected during his stay was seized two months later when he was arrested for involvement in an attack in another part of the country.

The documents were included in a prosecution file but it is not clear they were widely circulated within the government. A sketch of the Fort district identified the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station where gunmen opened fire at the outset of the assault, killing more than 50 commuters.

Officials said that while in custody Ansari was taken to Mumbai for three days, where he was questioned by the city's Anti-Terrorism Squad about the plans but the line of enquiry was dropped.

Meanwhile leading American terrorism experts have fuelled speculation that some terrorists involved in the plot had escaped detection. Leading counter-terrorism expert David Kilcullen, who advised General David Petraeus, the head of the US Central Command, said the numbers involved were likely to be higher. He said: "The Indians said there were 10 attackers, based on the fact that they captured one and killed nine – you have to assume there are more out there."

In the wake of the attacks, several Indian officials have resigned including the top officials in Maharashtra state and the cabinet minister responsible for security.

Palaniappan Chidambaram, the new Home Minister, apologised for the government's failure to stop the attacks. "There have been lapses," he said. "I would be less than truthful if I said there had been no lapses."

Oh look its Lashkar e Toiba spreading fitna, using Indian Muslims.

10%? :D

No denying in that. There is laskher, talibans, ttp and plenty more.. they are all breeding in pakistan. I have no love for that country where there is zero justice and religion has been hijacked by the most ignorant people on the planet, my argument is simple, Indians cannot pinn all the blame on outsiders.

And he is Mr. 100% now... 10% days are long gone.. where do you thinkt that 7billion IMF loan is gona go?

Half of it goes to Pakistan military & ISI and they in turn spend half it to breed terror groups in Pakistan and deploy them everywhere.

Oh dear.. I smell burned curry all over.. sorry dude, you may continue begging condi rice, she might listen someday. :D In the mean time have some dosa and enjoy a bollywood movie.

Again, no evidence what so ever. Why doesn't India present its case?

Even when the attack was going on, people within India were already blaming Pakistan. India is a nation that deceives its people and blames every single bomb going off on Pakistan. Minorities in India have every right to be peeved off, whether its Christians, Sikhs, Muslims, Dalits etc. and all the different regions in India where there is armed conflict e.g. Punjab, Kashmir, Assam. However India distorts facts and puts the blame at Pakistan's doorstep. As countless security experts have said, Pakistan is too easy a target.

Muslims have been killed in their thousands in India, raped and burnt alive and the perpetrators get off scot-free. There are over a 150 million Muslims in India, similar to the number of Muslims in Pakistan, is it not possible that some Muslims from within India carried out some of these attacks? Ever heard of the Indian Mujahideen? or the Students Islamic Movement of India?

Yes.. but in this instance, all the roads seem to keep leading to Pakistan. Why is that?

Hmmm... where is that proof? Why the dead terrorists were buried in a hurry?
Well I guess they could have been kept on ice for a few weeks to months while things were figured out. Then of course India would have been accused of not allowing the religious beliefs of the killers to be taken into account and called insensitive for not burying them immediately as custom would have it.

Where is that so called living terrorist?
Probably in a lot of pain in an Indian jail. Where do you think he is?

Why the proof hasn't been presented to the rest of world? Do you really thing that Indian police is so efficient that they can conclude the whole investigation within 12 hrs of the attack? they have solved the mystery within few hours actually.
I am sure they had a fair idea during and immediately after the attack.

Where do you see the writing on the hand band of that terrorist?
Look closely at the image of the guy's hand and it looks like writing of some sort.

Why is it so hard for you believe that those terrorists might have been one from India? Do you think that when 5000 muslims were burned alive in Gujrat, their relatives would forget everything?
They could very well have. But the evidence so far seems to point towards Pakistan.. involvement wise anyway.

I am not denying that they can't be from pakistan or afghanistan or any part of kashmir. All I am saying that there is no fucking proof and india police is probably the most corrupt police in the world, thousands are murdered in close encounter by the same police, they have no india what the fuck happened and who did it. There have been nothing but contradictions in their so called investigation.
Probably. But I would imagine that they are not the only country investigating the attack. Are you suggesting that all the other agencies from other countries are also corrupt with an axe to grind against Pakistan? The US have been Pakistan's allies during the war in Afghanistan and even they are saying that the attackers could very well have come from or been trained in Pakistan and that their spy agency could have been connected or involved.

Time will tell.

where have you been????????
To put it briefly..

16 November (Sunday).. my suburb was hit by a freak storm that was more like a tornado and basically trashed my suburb (looked like a war zone with houses torn to shreds, etc) including part of my house (garage and playroom and laundry copped the worst of it)... power was out until following Wednesday.. and that Wednesday night at 2am during yet another storm (torrential rain this time), we lost our home and everything else in a mudslide.. resulting in our having to run for our lives in the middle of the night.. we are now homeless, carless and missing many of our belongings and staying with my parents while we attempt to gather what is left of our lives and belongings together.. in short.. been a fucked up couple of weeks:bawl:..

I'll PM you when I get the chance. Life is hectic at the moment trying to help the kids recover (they are very traumatised and still terrified.. suffering nightmares and night terrors ever since :bawl:) while we decide what we are going to do and where we are going to live in the short/long term. We don't want to live in our house again, even after it is rebuilt.. not after everything that has happened.

Err, proving what exactly, stywalker?

You're really not that bright, are you?

More interesting news coming out of India... like Bell said... Only time will tell..

Hush you! I haven't been able to sleep in over 2 weeks. Don't pick on the zombie.

But again, as even your article supports, there are links to Pakistan in some form or another.

Good God, Bells! No one was hurt I hope?
No. We weren't hurt. Just bruised and battered a bit and the kids are still very traumatised. But we were very, very lucky. Could have been much worse.. our front yard and our neighbours basically saved our lives. There are many in worse situations than us and who have probably lost more than we have. So we need to consider ourselves lucky.

I never said there aren't any links, I have been saying all along that they are rushing their stupid statements, they are idiots and dhoti lovers, they should have waited for their propaganda. I guess you missed the whole episode of Samjohta express, well ofcourse you did, some one who thinks that iran is the only muslims country in the world?... I can't expect much from you.:D

.
There is a difference between a link and whole responsibility and involvement of a government and military. I think the way Indian handled this situation very immaturely, like some third grader.

Well thank God. I guess there are a lot of people out of their homes down there then; any word on insurance? Were you on a storm coast?

*******

skywalker: sorry, noticed your post late - I've never done your mom; she was on the homely side so I gave her to my dog.

Just kidding; relax. I don't have a dog.

It was my friend's dog.

You can't discuss anything objectively without personal insults, can you? Why does a dhoti cause pain in your backside? Shame! :p

There is now concrete evidence on paki involvement which has been shared. Now the Pakis say they will take action in 48 hours (or India or US will take the action). Were they so blind and dumb so far - that they needed some concrete on their backsides. Or were they just covering up their helplessness in the guise of lack of evidence? - they could not pull out a hair when their own star hotel was blasted!
