Mars has no moons anymore!?!?!?!?

There is nothing on NASA's hompage to indicate such.

Nothing in Nature either.

In other words, Phobos and Deismos are still there.

(Can you see Mars' moons through a small, say a 24 inch, telescope?)

I'm sure somebody has a big enough scope to check this.

If the moons really are gone, I'll eat my hat.

Xev,

There is nothing on NASA's hompage to indicate such.

Perhaps they don't want to admit such thing...

James R,

If the moons really are gone, I'll eat my hat.

Eat it! I just saw in my scope... they are gone!!!...

It would be funny. NASA guy steps up to the microphone, says "Um, I have a little announcement here. We seem to have misplaced a couple of moons..."

Perhaps they don't want to admit such thing...

Why not? Moons disappearing, I bet that would increase funding.....

Want me to have it checked? Granted, you can not exactly take my word for it......

Adam: And then he would moon the reporters! Hahahaha!

Sorry, not enough sleep. :D

Can anyone see if they are there please...?

:D:D:D

Yeah... why russians...? :bugeye:

Nelson

The Russian satellite sent to examine Phobos, one of them, was shot down r something just as it took a picture of the bullet thing (check the website!!), even though the bullet thing could've been faked. And the other satellite was shot down too. All that money, down the drain.

But look at the bright side. At least the Russian Space Agency doesn't lose billion dollar satellites because of 'mathematical errors.' I don't remember the name but one or two of the satellites we sent to mars exploded in the atmosphere because the distances were converted to miles even though the system worked on kilometers or something.
