secondly yes its ovious you were being sarcastic about only BLONDS deserving to win, its a harder strech to say you were being sarcastic about these sort of events still existing in the first place.
This moron from MI had no clue about birth control and controlled substances. She is that stupid. Miss USA is supposed to be a wholesome young woman. MI is not. She's a damn stripper. She calls herself a Christian AND a Muslim. You can NOT be both. Yes, she really is that stupid.
so she knows that all drugs are controled substances regulated by the FDA. As for her being a stripper hell shes just more honest about it than the other however many candiates. The whole compertition might as well be a stipper comp, at least they are HONEST in what they are about

Curious issue, this one. These contests are dumb from the get-go; then again, in some very perverse way it's a good thing that she won. Although it's not the kind of representation the Arab community might ask for. Still. And then there's the stripper thing, which is kind of not so much the outlook "Miss USA" thing or whatever it is. And then there's "why is this really news"? Celeb news? Should have a separate channel. And if you want to watch it, you should have to first stick your hand in a little zapper next to the cable box, because this is a habit we don't want to encourage. For watching real news, you could be rewarded with not zapping. Touch your toes, Smith W!
I really did not watch that event on TV, I really do not give a damn about any "beauty contest" who ever or what ever may be involved in them. I'd think the majority of people really do not care either about such shows for fewer and fewer people are watching them as there ratings are slipping downward every year.

Oil leak incident is being under reported, isn't it? I mean..News are bombarding us with random Middle Eastern bombardments, but there's barely anything worthwhile concerning the oil leak...
One could argue that Miss America shouldn't just be some woman who "looks normal". She should, by definition, be more appealing than the "normal" woman.
She certainly isn't ugly, but I regularly see more attractive women at the grocery store.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For example, to Sandy, only blonde is beautiful. She's like a female version of Hugh Hefner, our little Sandy. They must be blonde and they must have an inflated chest!
She looks natural and normal. And not inflated.
I just don't see what the big deal is about this.
The reaction to this is more along the line of the right and the racists going 'omfg they're going to think we're Muslims now'. I was under the assumption that one's religion does not come into play in such contests. And yet, the controversy here is because she is a Muslim.
Sandy has taken it a step further and said that she's not beautiful because she's not blonde, but she apparently has an accent, may or may not have taken off her clothes and she answered a question correctly... Apparently that's bad.
The response to this girl winning is just as shallow as the competition itself is. Only now, it's gone a bit further and is stating that Muslims should not win or be in the competition.. I mean think about it from their standpoint.. a Muslim representing the US.. First it's a black president and now it's a Muslim girl representing the US. The land of the free can only be so free to a certain extent..

Yes, I can see how a pair of shorts and a singlet = "dirty stripper". And wearing a bikini (like everyone else does) in the contest = "wholesome women in the USA".

I'm not concerned with her ethnic background or religious views. I don't think a woman has to be blonde or white to be beautiful. I really don't even give a crap about the Miss America pageant at all. But, as I said before, this is just another example of the winner being someone other than the most attractive woman.
The winner of a beauty contest shouldn't have "normal" looks. That kinda defeats the purpose. That's like saying that the Cy Young Award winner should be a pitcher who had an "average" season.

What, exactly, disqualifies this American girl's eligibility for a stupid beauty pageant, even if it is the "Miss America" contest? I mean, she is American, right? Or did I miss something there?

Beauty, of course, is in the eye of the beholder, and apparently a panel of judges found her "beauty" adequate. The fact that you prefer a nose of a different shape (as do I, for whatever that matters) does not mean she is not "beautiful". All in all, I think she's kind of hot - maybe not as much as some of the blonds floating around, but isn't that a matter of personal preference? Maybe we had a panel of judges that favored brunettes this year? Who knows?
Clean? Please tell me you don't have personal knowledge of her hygiene habits?!? If not, where would you obtain such information on her "cleanliness"?

Again, personally, I would pick a different chickie, but I don't think she's beyond her rights or acting as a contestant completely out of the blue. Do you? Maybe it's the "stripper" angle that's got you going. Not exactly what mom and dad would call wholesome, but have you met many strippers? I have a relative who "stripped" her way through college, in one of those "not totally nude" clubs. I went to see where she worked one time, and although I would have preferred that she were in a different environment, it wasn't all that bad. She ended here routine with more clothes on than I regularly see on Miami Beach. And you sure couldn't argue with the money!
Anyway, I agree that a lot of "strippers" are druggies, whores (as in prostitutes), etc. But not all - so who knows, maybe this girl was like my relative - she simply did it as a part time job while in college, no "extras" involved. Not everyone is born to fortune, and I made my own money. Too late to help said relative, unfortunately.
I guess the real question I have for you is "Why all the vehemence?". What about this topic has you so freaked out? She is definitely, by most any standard, "a pretty girl". As someone else mentioned, I didn't even know this whole issue existed until I read about it here. What first brought it to your attention?
I don't know. but the skeptic in me wonders why this Miss America scandal is becoming an annual event. Could it be because its owner, Mr. Trump is a drama queen? It seems to me that Mr. Trump never misses an opportunity to get a little press time...just wondering if these scandals are not organized like boxing.
