Looks Like A Miracle

Ice Erections? Bizarre.

However, they do not actually look remotely like a miracle. The "discoverer" of them believes in God and is grateful to God for having shown him this tiny corner of Creation, but here the guy provides his own (perfectly scientific) hypothesis for them.

Just because he praises God does not make this a miraculous event for the Religion forum. It would do better on the actual Science forum.

If you look at the water surface you will see that the ripples are not moving. Also as the rod of water comes out there is no lowering of the water level. I would say that this is a result of good picture manipulation rather than a sign from God.

*whisper* uh, it's ice, you wouldn't expect the ripples to move, nor level to lower! :p

*whisper* frozen water never has ripples when it freezes it's surface becomes flat. ;)

Everything is a miracle until we give it a rational explanation, even if it wouldn't be the real explanation. But an unexplainable thing without love is not a miracle, it's only a trick. An act of God doesn't have to be unexplainable.

M*W: You're only half correct. A more appropriate username for you would be "Melted Ice."

I have ice cubes in my freezer that look like scoured sandstone. Besides, I don't see much for ripples, but rather refracted irregularities from the side of the ice cube.

And yes, I have seen these things in my own freezer.
