Let's lower the minimum post count before allowing links

There have been some recent posters who are quite informative and interesting. And who are also reluctant to just post 20 times real quick in order to post links and to get rid of the ads and whatnot.

I think that we can safely lower the minimum post count to somewhere between 5 and 10 and stil have the desired effect of weeding out spam bots, but allowing new posters to become full members sooner.

If the spam problem kicks back in, we can always change back.

now that we have a [ENC]shitload[/ENC] of moderators you can probably do away with post limits altogether.

I think you'd be surprised at the number of spammers who are deterred by the 20 post rule. I say keep it.

i would assume that mods in general get itchy after awhile, they need to ban somebody. i can't think of a more deserving poster than a spammer.

but on the other hand putting a mods expertise into banning spammers is hardly a test of their character now is it.

I cannot wait for my chance to ban TDI.

I think it's not a problem to hike the limit. I'm not saying that's necessary. But:

It's not hard to circumvent something like link prevention, I expect. People use all manner of ways to prevent webcrawlers from accessing email addresses they post online.
