Itch & Scratch?

Hello,

Itch can express a dis-ease, irritation, instabilty and pain WHEREAS scratch, a ease, calmness, stabilty & pleasure. Though this may not be valid in all cases, still can be somewhat valid.

Can you tell about physiological and imunological purposes of Itch/ pain and physiological impacts by scratching/reliving pain?

Best wishes.

I never understood all that itchy and scratchy show. It always disappointed me that Lisa Simpson liked it. *scritch-scritch*

It's interesting to me how a serious itch can make sensations normally over the pain-threshold hurt so good. For example, when I've had a case of "athlete's foot", scalding hot water on the infested spot feels great. Wussupwidat?

Felling are much felt in commons and to most itch is much disturbing irritation and scratcing is much relief giving & enjoyble. But I want to understnd "phisiological basis" of these.
