Italian peace activist murdered by Islamist militants in Gaza

Can we not all see that having different news agencies produce different information on a subject is just devilry of the highest order?

I don't think so...because each of them are going to tell the story with a bias that obscures the truth...and if you get the story told through multiple lenses...you may actually see the real story.

Make that a espresso mocha-soy latte with a shot of rum and I just might.:D

As Hamas forces closed in, the group's ringleader, Abdel-Rahman Mohammad Breizat, a Jordanian, threw grenades at his two accomplices and then shot himself rather than be taken alive.

This is a widely known tactic of the IDF. Throw grenades at each other and commit suicide :)

A Hamas official said the suspects were members of a small extremist Islamic group inspired by al-Qaida. Breizat is believed to have sneaked into Gaza last year.

No mention of Israel. Funny, because Hamas and their friends tend to blame everything on Israel. This time, even they admit that it wasn't Israel. But I wouldn't trust a racist bunch of thugs who want to clean every Jew from the face of "Palestine". They're probably lying and it was Israel after all

Suspect kills self. How very convenient.

Have they checked where his mother or sisters are?

Well if this is an Israeli false flag operation, someone forgot to inform Hamas.

Gaza City - Hamas policeman clashed with members of a Salafist group in the central Gaza Strip on Tuesday, as they raided a house during a search for suspects in the murder of an Italian activist.

Witnesses at the scene said Hamas security officials were trying to raid a house believed to contain two suspects in the murder of Vittorio Arrigoni, who was found hanged last Friday hours after his kidnapping.

SAM, you'd better contact them and inform them of their tragic mistake before someone gets killed (actually I believe that's already happened).

Hmm lets analyse this "news" report [or how to identify Hasbara from real news]

Yeah, well Al Jazeera certainly seems to think so. 2pts for the Captain! Why do you insist on these insane pretenses that any Palestinian hate crime is an Israeli false-flag instead of just the actions of a few stupid people? And why when a few stupid Israelis do something, do you always seem to portray it as exemplary of the Jewish or Israeli people as a whole?

?? Al Jazeera has some special dispensation? Palestinian hate crime? Who do they "hate"? The ISM?

I'm simply going by the Palestinian news sources. The Salafis have denied involvement and the ISM itself finds the whole Vittorio incident fishy. After the Itamar murders and the woman killed in West Jerusalem, this is the fourth "strange" killing in the OPT.

AFAIK, there is no evidence on what has actually taken place. The Hamas raids on the Salafis are old news, if you search the archives, you'll find I was the first person to discuss on Salafi groups in Palestine when der Spiegel did an expose on them.

Inserting news items into Arab news media is old Israeli psy ops - you can usually tell which ones they are since they are devoid of any identifications of the main parties.

Psychological warfare officers were in touch with Israeli journalists covering the Arab world, gave them translated articles from Arab papers (which were planted by the IDF) and pressed the Israeli reporters to publish the same news here.

I sure do hope you're right. Because after living for almost 20 years in Israel and serving 6 years in the IDF, I saw "hasbara" as Israel's weakness. If what you say is right, than the Israelis are pretty darn good at it. I mean - Israel manages to silence Hamas, according to your theory. I just haven't heard them accusing Israel yet.
I mean, Stuxnet - Israel was accused. The murder of Hariri in Lebanon - Israel was accused and of course how can we forget the "Mossad shark" in Egypt, that was, as it's name implies, "unleashed by Israel", but something as simple as a murder of a peace activist? No accusations so far.
I'm going to sleep very well tonight knowing that I'm protected by the iron curtain of the Israeli propaganda.:D

We get it S.A.M., Jews are bad and Arabs are good mmmmkay! Why don't you just say it instead of offering up smokescreens and subterfuge!

Frankly after watching the Gaza massacre on Al Jazeera in 2006, whenever I hear IDF I think of two things

- they defecated in cooking pots and put this shit in the refrigerators

- they designed tee shirts boldly claiming that they shot fetuses

Now I read that whenever they arrest Palestinians or want them to confess to a crime, they do so by taking away their mothers sisters or young children.

Thats my new improved image of the IDF [earlier it was based on Yoav Shamirs Checkpoint]

I try to imagine Germans making and wearing a tee shirt with Maly Powstaniec on it. Like this little Palestinian boy on the IDF tee shirt. I wonder what Jews would think of that.

Errr: isn't that kind of disingenous? You're implying it was some kind of badge of accomplishment or something. It was utterly offensive as hell, but it's not what you're implying.

Disclaimer: I swear by Tiassa's right nard that I'm not commenting on your post only because you're Sam, Sam.

There are psychopaths in every military and israel is no different! If you are saying this is status quo well I am not buying it unless of course you can prove it!

Its utterly offensive to those of us who care about the civil liberties of the disenfranchised yes, but to the Israelis, its just another day of Zionism.

Or have you forgotten this already?

Some junior commanders encouraged the brutality and even endorsed it. "After two months in Rafah a [new] commanding officer arrived ... So we do a first patrol with him. It's 6 A.M., Rafah is under curfew, there isn't so much as a dog in the streets. Only a little boy of four playing in the sand. He is building a castle in his yard. He [the officer] suddenly starts running and we all run with him. He was from the combat engineers. We all run with him. He grabbed the boy. Nufar, I am a degenerate if I am not telling you the truth. He broke his hand here at the wrist. Broke his hand at the wrist, broke his leg here. And started to stomp on his stomach, three times, and left. We are all there, jaws dropping, looking at him in shock ... The next day I go out with him on another patrol, and the soldiers are already starting to do the same thing."

Are you saying this is policy for the IDF or is this just somesoldiers behaving like psychopaths?

Lets just say that that innovative officer whose ROE included snapping the limbs of children and stamping on their stomachs, was never held accountable for his actions. Nor has any other IDF soldier who engaged in such acts.

There is nothing wrong with skepticism. I've yet to see similar skepticism applied when it comes to mythical figures like Mohammad and Khalid for which there is zero contemporary evidence (and good contemporary evidence they didn't exist).

Hamas vs Salafists thought to be responsible.

The live video seems like good evidence Hamas had to take some fundamental garbage out to the curb.
