No, no, Doreen! I went to lots of nudie bars .....but I always kept my eyes closed!

You have to say it when challenged by someone nude, but not necessarily in a nudie bar. In my hometown the local Atheists' Association like to catch people off guard, so they often send a nude person to the alleged atheist's place of business.Yep, unless they do that, I don't see how people can even call themselves proper atheists! Isn't that one of the initiation rites to become a proper atheist these days?
I can't find the proper choice on the poll. I find being an atheist is more acceptable than ever. Of course you will still run into people that are shocked by that point of view. But, the New Atheist authors are on the best seller lists, so something is changing.
The important question is what do we call ourselves?
IMO we should call ourselves the Allied Atheist Alliance as it's the most logical choice, so sayeth the otters.

Despite my theistic intelligence inhibitions I found the followingREPLY: We atheists are not organized. I have tried at times to find a group to join.
Despite my theistic intelligence inhibitions I found the following
http://www.atheists.org/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_secularist_organizations
http://www.atheists-online.com/links.asp
Note: the second and the third include large numbers of organizations.
I believe in pretty much all sex between consenting adults and I believe in rights to assembly. What I think is foolish is really neither here nor there.REPLY: These are website organizations. I have tried to find any in my area and I would have to go over 150 miles to attend a meeting. I am unwilling to do so. My time is worth a lot to me. That is one way. I would also have to drive back. I will be quite honest with you. I would only be listening to someone preaching to the choir so why bother ? There would HAVE TO BE a Strong SEXUAL ENTICEMENT to get such a movement viable. I do NOT see that in the works. THE ATHEISTIC FREE LOVE GROUP ? Something like that might work. It might be worth a try. We atheists tend not to organize. Nude ins and such got the hippy movement going. I do not know. I do not have it in me anymore to make much of an effort. That is the sort of thing that made a real change in the 60s and 70s. It takes such motivation to interest people enough to actually do anything meaningful. Does that sound cynical and foolish to you ? ...traveler
I live in the bible belt an i have never put any emblim on my vehicles which woud indicate im atheist... it woud jus be invitin somone to key my car... an here in Indina a few year ago... at no estra charge they offer a License plate that says "In God We Trust" on it or you can get the plate that dont say that... so now all the God fearin people can tell at a glance who frinds of the devil are... lol.!!!
Talking to the women in a strip club, at least anything beyond the weather or such, is often a mistake. I remember talking to a heart achingly lovely young dancer once. When I told her I was from California, she replied (sincerely) that she had been planning to move there, but was afraid that there would be an earthquake, and that it would fall into the ocean. So she was staying in Arizona instead. Up until then, with no evidence to the contrary, I could hope that she was as intelligent as she was beautiful. But she robbed me of my delusion.
I can't see why anyone would want to stand up and say or do or be anything as far as what they believe. If you believe in god, fine, why say anything about it? And if someone asks, tell them you don't want to talk about it, ain't none of their business. And that goes especially true in a nudie bar!!??
What people believe should be their own business, and it should remain that way.

First of all a topless dancer could care less about what the person sitting there believes and they certainly would not argue with a 'good tipper'.
Giving the benefit of the doubt (for arguments sake here) i would also say that he is more aware of religion and atheism whereas before he never gave it a second thought. This is commonly referred to the erroneous assumption that 'i changed so the whole world must have changed as well'.
