dont use IRC, it is the most security flawed chat program on the web. Its plagued with advertising progs too. seriously, i cant describe how much of a threat to your computer IRC is.

the biggest threat to irc security has nothing to do with the prog or protocols. d/l only from trusted sources or not at all. use it as a chat prog and you should be fine
