Hello,

Intelligence is interpreted as a property of mind that encompasses many related mental abilities, such as the capacities to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend ideas and language, and learn.

Many other definitions are given on;

As such, can we relate intelligence with ANS esp. Sympathetic Nervous System?

To decide, Fight or flight may need and promote intelligence whereas "rest and digest" may not. SNS may somewhat express excessive day time activities i.e. "earn/work and eat" whereas PNS night time activity or sleep. Stress hormone as cortisol level is minimum during mid night and increased during early morning.

Best wishes.

The sympathetic nervous system prepares the body to deal with emergency situations. When there is little stress, the parasympathetic system tends to slow down the overall activity of the body.

In view of above, whether sympathetic nervous system teaches us how to deal with the over-stressed problems?

Today, in big modern cities, we may be having chronic stresses--by pollutions, crowding, noise levels, over-illumination, work stress, excessive needs and greeds etc. Are these making us to learn more so more intelligent?
