Honestly, if you think that Lucysnow or myself is using "words and higher education" to "impress you" you're quite mistaken, and not just in assuming that we want to impress you.
 
I am normally a happy person, but I found reading this thread in its entirety quite depressing. I was amazed by two things. Firstly the lack of sympathy from many of the posters and secondly the lack of imagination from those same posters who seem unable to understand that there is a real person at the other end of each these posts. As Will Shapespeare said in another context that could just as well be applied to the life behind the on-line persona, "If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh?If you poison us, do we not die?"

Hang in their Reiku. Not everyone on the planet is a bitch (or a bastard) as a handful on this thread have demonstrated.

you know what depresses me about this thread, is that people always like to knock people who are down, Reiku you know how i feal about some of the people here, and hamg in there, not everyone is a wanker

Lucy is right. This thread, and the many others, is a sympathy seeker. When he is told to get help, he rebels and comes out with a new mental illness. Excuses don't wash well and he seems to be full of them when given constructive advice. He is testing us and if our responses do not comply with the textbook definition of one illness, he is quick to point it out.

You're depressed? Get help and stop drinking and using drugs. Sounds logical enough, wouldn't you say? But no. There are excuses for that as well. He lets us know he has valium and alcohol in the house. Then mentions the word 'suicide'. Those who want to mother him and "cheer him up" do so at breakneck speed. What Reiku fails to realise (or maybe he does and simply does not care) is that it should not be your responisibility to cheer him up or to talk him out of suicide. Your comments about how would one of his detractors feel if he did indeed kill himself was typical. You care about him and don't want him to hurt himself. I don't either. The issue here is that if he did hurt himself, he would leave all those who tried to help feel feeling as though they had somehow failed. He is aware of his own issues but refuses to do what is needed to help himself. Says a lot, don't you think?

He wants attention. Like a small child. Unlike my 2 year old who will tip a glass of milk in my lap if I am talking on the phone and he wants to 'play', Reiku tells you he wants to end it all because some strangers on a forum were mean to him and simply don't understand what he is going through. He has opened his own can of worms and now must live with the consequences. Yes there are many of us who are arseholes in this forum. But I can assure you, if he were indeed about to off himself, most of us arseholes would be calling the police. At the moment he is acting like an addict, making up excuses for his addiction. I don't know whether he is addicted to the sympathy and attention or to the booze and drugs, maybe both. Time will tell however. He reminds me of those people who fake their own death or attempted suicide on forums and then sits around to see what kind of reaction he gets. He is sick? Yes. And if he really wants help, he would not be so abusive of those who have offered him advice on how he can get better. In that, Lucy is very correct. He does need pity.

You are making a mockery of depression Reiku. I had a friend who suffered from severe depression and was suicidal. I was one of the people who discovered her body after she did kill herself. No sweets. I would never ever make a mockery of depression. I am not mocking you. I am telling you to get some help. I am telling you to lay off the booze and the drugs. I am telling you that an internet forum full of strangers is not the place to seek therapy or happiness.

Also, you are making a mockery of what ACTUALLY started out a friendly conversation. I do believe i wasn't over-imposive of my depression, and it wasn't UNTIL PEOPLE started to get personal, nasty and challenging about it did i reveal anything in particular.

In short Bell, you are a hypocrite, firstly, and also a patronizing piece of shit.
