if you believe that God created this Universe and everything in it,
why would Jesus or prophet M be any different/special than rest of us?
wouldnt we all be the children of the God/creator then?

If those tales would be true, we would be gods´ children, but that does not include that we are all equal, Jesus for example is supposed to be only half human, right? Concluding from that, there could be a distinction. Other religious persons were special because they were supposed to be enlightend by god or whatever else. Since most people can not say that of themselves, a difference between the children of god can exist.

M*W: Whatever the power was that created us, be it God, the big bang, aliens, natural evolution, or a positive force of energy, there would be no need for our 'salvation.' There would be, however, the need for prophets to be the great teachers of humanity. The prophets would be no different than the rest of us except that they may have more insight than the rest of us. It's like this:

Mind + Body + Soul = Wholeness of physical being
God + Son + Holy Spirit = Wholeness of religious being
Creator + Created + Pos. Energy = Wholeness of spiritual being

You can call it whatever you want, the fact is, the purpose of our human lives will never change, because the spirit inside us will never change. Humanity is God.

AH! it doesn't matter... all discussions of the nature of faith and powers all rest on the assumption that a god or supreme deity does in fact exist and was not made up by humans in order to explain things they didn't understand thousands of years ago.

because they were the ones who relayed god's message to humanity and so they were endowed with special qualities.. therefore, they're better than normal humans... well, that is my understanding of Christianity and Islam

No, he wasn't special/different for being a son of god, he was special and is talked about even today because he was proclaimed King of the Jews, monarchs wanted him dead, and he was crucified for his religion claiming he was saving us from his vengeful god... have any of you done that? If not, he is special/different compared to you.
