It is rather strange but up until the white man came to North America the indigenous peoples lived without guns for over 20,000 years, then they were exposed to guns and they needed them for their own defense but they were called "savages"!
Merrliy clubbing and spearing and knifing and warring away in general long before us "crazy white boys" showed up with our guns...
Also, we always called 'em savages. It's just that when they outnumbered us, they were "noble savages". Once we outnumbered them, they became "Godless savages."

1. I obviously don't think that you could rid of guns at this time.
2. Just getting rid of guns wouldn't make the world a better place.

What I am simply saying is there would be less people dead and afraid if we didn't have guns, bombs, poisons etc. Because if all of these things weren't the easiest way to kill people they wouldn't be of any use anymore, those things are the most destructive in any society and will continue to be.

I guess we have to kill all humans because theres no point to living and existing if you don't have any power. A powerless individual is a slave or pet, have fun being a slave.
For me it's "choose your weapon", it's not ever going to be a weaponless society, even if I'm in prison I'll have my weapons and my enemies will have theirs.
If there were no guns, there wont be any police to protect you from the neighborhood bully, or rapist, because police wont have guns. So now that 300lb guy who wants to enslave you can use his physical size to do it.
You wont be solving anything other than helping the dumbest biggest people take over the world. We will be back to cave man status where men rape women simply because they are bigger and have bigger fists.
Without guns and bombs people would be even more afraid. A rapist doesn't need a gun to rape a woman with his bare hands. A violent person doesn't need a gun to break your neck. What are non-violent people supposed to do? You'll be even more afraid than you are now because anyone will be able to take anything from you just by beating you up.

There would be less deaths still. I never intend on carrying a gun around with me. I occasionally carry a switch blade with me when I have to come home from school late or am just plan on be out late. I could throw a punch to his throat and kick him in the balls. Get him on the floor and drive my knife through is eye.
You must realize this a complexity. Guns and bombs can escalate any situation and make another person feel afraid. Your forum isn't anything new to me.
That is the most ridiculous statement. I don't have a gun I don't feel powerless, my words are my power and my actions are the transaction to them. BULLSHIT you need a weapon. There would be less people dead if there weren't any guns anymore.
I live in one of those low crime rural small towns with lots of hunters and guns. We have had 2 murders in the last 10 years. One guy did in his wife with a dry cleaning bag, and the other fellow was beaned with a bookend. What good would a lack of guns done either victim?

your entire nation was founded on the principle of 'live free or die', that its better to fight for your freedoms and risk death, than to live your life without them. dont make the mistake of thinking that there arent still people who would take your freedoms away for their own benefit.
There was actually more death and a shorter overall human lifespan before guns were invented. Maybe because a lot of really stupid people were harder to kill and were allowed to create massive havoc upon the world? Haven't you read history? during the time of swords and shields, bow and arrow, there was more death, misery, and torture than in any period in human history. They called it the dark ages, where ignorant people ruled the earth and oppressed the intelligent minority with their pitchforks, swords, bows, arrows and spears. People like you who are afraid of weapons would be enslaved, it's really that simple. The people who don't want to be slaves would make weapons to fight for their freedom.

Words without enforcement are powerless! When native Americans begged for help in English, their words did not prevent their slaughter. Neither did the words of helpless Africans when being enslaved by their slave masters. Nor did the words of the founding fathers who tried to use words against the British before the revolution. You are someone who would have taken the guns from the founding fathers and would have guaranteed that America could have never existed. The USA was founded upon the power and might of the gun just as Europe was founded upon the power and might of the sword, and to remove either from the equation would reverse history completely, Europeans would have been the ones enslaved by the other people who vastly outnumbered them by the billions.
I'm not claiming slavery is desireable for anyone, but I'm not the one. If you want to be a slave, give me all of your weapons and I'll enslave you.
By the way, if you remove the weapons you know about, our secret weapons will be used to enslave you, you'll never be able to remove all weapons and by removing known weapons you only disarm yourself. I'll build my own weapons if necessary, as will many others, and you won't recognize these weapons as weapons because they wont look weaponly. The best weapon isn't a gun, it's a person.

good so at least people in your town know how to handle guns it's a shame people in the inner city loose their lives to being shot with guns almost everyday...hm well compared to your low murder count in your town there would still be less people dead in the world. Where in my own words have you found that I'm some kind of tree hugging hippie. Today if guns, nuclear weaponry, malicious compounds and pioson's where gone the extent of what is happening in the world would be lessened. Less people would be dying, maybe you think if that were to happen the the police would be left to die and no country could stand on its own. The fact that many people die from guns each year from idiots, the problem would be lessened. Most humans are obvious to themselves and what they have.
It's a fucked up world. but if today I think guns are not only in the hands of the righteous but of the horrible. They should be far and sparse. individualism is the death to the world. No one can be anyones slaves for that would be immoral but if someone was to rob me from gun point the reality of the situation is I am his slave. where is the logic in that?

I will not be someone's slave everyone should know that, why would I let someone think they could do that. Plus I would never turn on someone for telling me something I disagree with. I am being robbed or trying to be raped my fist may hurt him but not enough for him to just knock me out. Yes people suck they are the problem but it seems guns are being put into the wrong hands and that is in no way a freedom to kill someone over the most ridiculous thing.

Not only today, but weapons have been in the hands of the Horrible since the beginning of time.
And if you think the world is fucked up today, just go back to the Dark Ages and before.
Where is the logic on making me a slave to? by removing my ability to defend myself and my family.
And as you have just pointed out, you become a slave when you can't defend your self, against superior force, or weaponry.
Hand to hand requires superior muscle and skill against your opponent.
Knives? again require superior skill, reflexe, and strength against you opponent.
If your strength and skill isn't superior to your opponent, guess what, they have you as their slave, absolute power, from life to death.
But on the bigger scale today guns suck, and the fact that I have to worry about nuclear bombs going off is frightening and I feel like a slave to the world in that case.
A lot more people could have there freedom if guns weren't in the process.

Even pulling a blade against scum will elevate the situation to DEFCON ONE, if he is armed with a gun, and he wants what you have, guess what, never bring a knife to a gun fight, even a switch blade.
