Exercising discretion is not the same as being arbitrary.

If moderating was an automatic process, we wouldn't need human moderators. Judgment is always necessary for a good moderator. One-size-fits-all makes for bad moderation.

Anyway, I demand more arbitrariness. This is the problem: the mods aren't arbitrary enough. Moderation always follows the same old boring predictable pattern.

The problem as I see it, is that Varda got banned for a remark to Sam ........ a remark that none of the users found appalling .......... would it be correct to ask SAM if she were offended before banning Varda ....... ?? ... I mean if the language is not so foul ,that young people must be protected on this family site ......
