From Wikipedia:

Stimulators of GH secretion include:

growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) from the arcuate nucleus
ghrelin
sleep
exercise
low levels of blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
dietary protein
increased androgen secretion during puberty (in males from testis and in females from adrenal cortex)
arginine

So does that mean that if you deliberately induced a sugar crash on a regular basis, you would grow more? O_O (if you were still growing)

No, likely not. Growth and development is only going to occur if several criteria are met. Another function of HGH is to slow the liver's re-uptake of glucose (stated in the same article), which would be why low blood sugar is a stimulator for its release.
