Humans (and all creatures) are genetically programmed to some extent, but the level of development of the neocortex in humans puts us way beyond "mere" preprogrammed machines. Just because my visual cortex has specific cell clusters that respond to vertical lines and clusters dedicated to horizontal lines (which it does) dosen't lessen the fact that I can interpret millions of lines and angles in any visual field to form the mental representation of the Mona Lisa. Humans (and all creatures) aren't "mere" anything. IMHO.

i dont see how this means we are mere pre programmed machines because we have a sense of geometry,

we are born with the instinct to survive, eat, sleep, drink and reproduce aswell.

Anomalous also seems to be adding a thingy to the code that makes a print box come up. Please don't do that, it irritates me.

that was done by the original website of the article and it must be messing with your data right now with its viruses.

Sorry, just kidding, its the print view of the articles which is all text and very fast compared to the original one.

proof my fanny arse.......
it just shows ignoreance to underestimate organic reality as 'mere this mere that'...it demeans your understandings

that bad, very bad, how U do this, how can U call life this and that ?

I totally dont feel programmed. Like all animals, we eat, sleep, sex and drink. Is the schools that programs us to learn things, otherwise i should be a savage like Tarzan. :p

I worry about getting off topic, it is technically incorrect. Computers make decisions based on:
is A < B
is A = B
is A > B
and combinations thereof.

However, we (programmers, software engineers) are learning to put together combinations of these comparisons in ever new manners. We are learning ways to generate probabilities then throw in a toss of the dice according to the calculated probabilities. (to over simplify) The result is computer programming that can sometimes be (intentionally) unpredictable and can come up with the right answer for unknown reasons. In other words, we are aproaching the point of computers being able to make pragmatic decisions. There is much more but that is way off topic. Where going into biological robots & prolonging life here.

We are one and the same so U r on topic for me. keep it up.

Personally I think freewill is more important than not to be off topic.
