Hit? Do you mean how to win or how to gauge chance to be in your favour?

The majority of the time, chance is only increased through syndication (that means a lot of people at a work location picking numbers that they stick with and doing it each week together with an agreement that they share any winnings over a certain sum, other lesser winnings are just reused to play again the next week.)

Don't expect to get a Jackpot from just one line, the chances are far less than playing multiple lines.

There is an alternative framework, however it's one that con-persons use where they give people "Lucky numbers" from some mystic to win with for a price, the numbers aren't necessarily winning ones at all, in fact the money spent on getting them is used to "hedge bet" the numbers "allotted" them, it means the con-persons get to have free go on the lottery at the expense of the person that paid them for the numbers. The daft thing is if the numbers come in, the person will be thanking the con-person for giving them the numbers.

Never play it, and never will. I have no interest in money beyond my need to have somewhere to sleep and to eat.

The lottery is a con, and its also a nightmare for those that win it.

we call it "luck" to win, right?

The laymen call it "Luck" or "Chance", others might refer to it as "Probability" or just look at it as "Causality" where the outcome justifies the means.

we call it "luck" to win, right?

I would think its a curse.

Like i say, i have no money and do not want anything more than being able to eat and a place to sleep.

People waste there energy wanting the things, and its another form of taxing people.

If you hit 3 millions, how much tax do you need to pay?
in the UK any winnings from the lottery are tax-free, which means you would get all £3,000,000.

If you earn £3m through employment (e.g. An overpaid footballer or a banker) then you'd probably end up paying c.£1.37m in tax (Income Tax and National Insurance).

I'm pretty certain you would have a 100% chance of winning if you bought 1 ticket for every possible permutation of the numbers.

There are many ways to narrow down the lottery odds, for example the numbers never come out exactly sequentially, you don't get any particular number cropping in every single draw, also the numbers are never exactly the same as the previous draw and are extremely unlikely to be the exactly the same as any previous draw, the point is just by following sensible rules you can narrow odds that were in the millions down into the 10's of thousands range. Still very unlikely you'll hit the jackpot but at least you can give yourself a far better chance.

it all depends on luck

Well there is luck and then there is luck, I tend to think we are all capable of influencing our own luck by our efforts, it just seems to me those that are willing to make some effort to help themselves are usually more lucky, kind of as if they are rewarded for their efforts, but this is more a philosophical view. Where by in practice what we often say is luck quite often isn't just luck but also a combination of events that we are actually able to control at least some of, for example if you were cross a road and get run over people might say you unlucky, but waiting and making sure the road is clear you can lessen the chance of being run over, thus making yourself less unlucky or more lucky, conversely if you stand in the middle of the road all day then you're more likely to get run over thus making yourself more unlucky.

But the point is these same sensible principles can be applied in other areas such as even choosing lottery numbers, imagine if you went out and bought 12 lottery tickets for 1 single draw, now on each of these tickets you select exactly the same numbers, ask yourself this simple question would you be more likely to win on one of these tickets or would you be more likely to win on 12 tickets each selected with different sets of numbers? The point being we all have the ability to influence luck, the odds etc.., whatever you wish to call it either in our favour if we act sensibly and intelligently or against our favour if we don't, we can make a difference and for this reason luck is not equal for everybody.

I am in London, Wednesdays I hit three numbers 24, 31, 41 and won ten pounds!
The numbers I bought was generated by computer!
