As some of you know, I'm a fan of the Chaser boys..

But even I have doubts about their satirical powers, after their skit involving terminally ill children.

While it was staged, and clearly intended to be over the top as to not be taken seriously, I think they were a bit unrealistic in thinking that everyone would see it that way.

It's not like they haven't taken flak before, but they were actually forced to apologize and the ABC's head of comedy was fired.

Here's the incident on wiki:

Their site: http://www.abc.net.au/tv/chaser/
The skit is in episode 2
Their Apology: http://www.chaser.com.au/

So, did they take it too far, picking on the Make a wish foundation and terminally ill children ?
I'm probably going to get an unanimous yes on this one, but dissenting voices are welcome.

Todays comedians seem to have lost touch with what really makes people laugh. Not all of them , but many. They need to shock people more than make them laugh it seems. I enjoy good humor and even some vulgararity doesn't bother me but when they go this far I really do not understand why they do it. I have never wattched them or even heard about them but I won't be wanting to go to their shows , that's a certain thing. :(

That's a bit general.. It's only one incident..
They've done some great satires in the past.

Dave Chappelle did something kinda similar on his show a few years ago on one of his skits. He went to visit this boy with terminal cancer and started playing NBA live on Xbox against him. He was kicking the little kid's ass in the game and talking shit to him whilst he was doing it. The kid said he didn't feel like playing anymore but Dave made him keep playing.
