Hello everyone.

I am new here and would like to say that I have spent a few hours reading alot of these topics. I like what I see, everyone is open and easy going. Let me tell you a little about myself before I start posting and making replys to your threads. I am 26 years old and live in the United States. I have little to no education post HighSchool other than military training. I have met people from all over the world and enjoy meeting new people and discussing issues much like the ones you find here. I dont claim to know anymore than the next person I just offer my perspective where it is approiapate.

One thing I am bad about and hope most of you can overlook is my poor spelling and grammer. I guess its because I didnt study when I was in school, but I always figured as long as I could form a complete Idea in sentance form the spelling and grammer were just sprinkles on top.

please feel free to flame me or send me links to spellcheckers hehe.

Yup, welcome to Sciforums.

If your Grammar is bad, just do like I and blame that sticky key that you happened to spill something that is... well... sticky on it.

BTW, if you think your grammar needs improving there's always www.dictionary.com

Ooohhh, I love dictionary.com

I recently found they had a translator on it!!!Woohooo, learning Spanish, finally:D

Welcome Xten :)

You seem to be able to convey your thoughts clearly as evident in your post, so we're willing to overlook the spelling and grammar ;)

I am currently in high school and due to high school "abuse" of the english language, I believe I am not as good in english as I could/should be. But the books I am attempting to read (due to the demanding schedule of high school) are "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Grammar and Style" by Laurie E. Rozakis, Ph.d and "The Oxford - Essential Guide to Writing" by Thomas S. Kane.

The first book will correct one's writing almost completely from word usage to the efficient usage of grammar. I highly recommend it.

The second book will greatly enchance one's writing skills, may it be in effectiveness, efficiency, persuasiveness, etc. This is a must have.

Both books will show one many different and unique types of style to write by, which may build one's ability to be very proficient in the english language.

I hope I have answered your questions.

Hi,

Rules of spelling and grammer are completely arbitrary anyway so as long as peoplecan understand you it dosen't really matter.
